On my 2006 Hummer H3, the factory third brake light had failed, and a replacement cost between $150 and $260. I only needed one of these strips, so I bought two. I tapped into the factory power wire and ground while attaching it to the factory LED strip. From start to finish, it took me 30 minutes!.
I used these to fix a Hummer H3's third brake light, and they worked perfectly! Compared to these, OEM costs around $200. br>br>8/3/20 Update: The Hummer is still going strong!.
I attached these LED strips to the backside of the passenger peg mounts and they look great. They were a total success. br>I wired them into my brake system, and they work great in conjunction with the taillight. They significantly increase the visibility of the rider. When you have multiple running and brake lights instead of the single factory tail light, cars are much more likely to notice you.
Like other reviewers, I believe I simply expected more. They work fine; the wires are thin, as others have noted, but this was not an issue with proper care. The stickiness of the adhesive is fantastic. I only use the running and brake lights, not the turn signal function. The distinction between a running light and a brake light is easily discernible. It's just not as bright during the day as I'd hoped. I would have gladly paid a lot more for something that was much brighter. Using an LED replacement brake light bulb, which typically requires a resister, is possibly the only way to get what I was looking for.
So, a new oem third brake light for the H3 costs around $100, and after reading a few reviews on these led lights, I decided to give them a try. It took about 30 minutes to install, and I used a little silicone on the light bezel where there were a few cracks. It's fantastic! I strongly suggest it!.
One of the strips fell off the lens fairly quickly, so I'll have to disassemble the rear deck and superglue it back together. Although not as bright as my LED tail lights, they are a great value and are much more visible than incandescent tail lights.
Even though I didn't use them for the intended purpose, they were still fantastic! This was exactly what I needed to replace the third brake light in the cap of my truck. The ability to trim them if necessary was a nice touch, which I took advantage of. I ended up using one and a half of the two bulbs, and they are far brighter than the previous halogen bulb.
The item arrived in perfect condition. I took a chance on these after reading another buyer's review about how he used them to replace his g35's broken third brake light. br>br>I soldered the product to the third brake light's old wiring. It went off without a hitch. I would strongly advise other owners of the G35 sedan to purchase these.
