The new cargo light comes with a new seal, and it fits like a glove on the 05-2016 model.
That is not the case. Neither a gasket nor a seal comes with it. I did not get the right plugs when it came with the device at least in my case. I would not recommend.
The harness is connected to it by three plugs

A quick and easy installation process. The bulbs can be connected to the new led leads by plugging in the original bulb It would be nice if there were a thicker seal behind the hood cavity on the truck that would prevent water from seeping in. As soon as I installed it with his seals, his hat came with a I had to replace my headliner after it rained a week after installation because water stained it. However, it is an easy fix. I just added a thin bead of silicone between the light and seal and screwed it down lightly and it no longer leaks.
My 2006 F150 Extended Cab is equipped with this part. I did not use I have been through several rain storms and there have been.
In order for their supplied wires to work in your OEM bulb connectors, they need flat metallic ends. The wire ends, provided by them, do not make good contact. Upon first connection and test, one cargo light did not work, I took it apart and moved the bare wire and it did work. However, this is a second issue The cargo lights do not project downward and brightly into the cargo bed during the night, not even one tenth of the light of the It seems that the product I purchased was not well designed, so I returned it.
The product is made for much less than OEM prices. It still allows water to enter despite the gasket being installed correctly. A LED bulb is no brighter than simply changing a factory bulb to a LED one. The company keeps sending me email games on what to do instead of just issuing a refund or replacing my device. that, the light was easy to install but started to leak at the very first raindrop. The only way I could get the light to stop was to plug it with silicone. I like that it works well, but I was disenchanted by the lack of a thicker or better gasket and the absence of an electrical connection corresponding to the vehicle for which it was intended.
It is Ford's responsibility to stop the leak because I had the same problem in my 2007 with factory light. So I deducted a star because unless you silicone it, it will leak. On 2008, this was installed.
There is not quite enough thickness to the gasket for the cargo and brake lights, but I liked the look and brightness. To keep the light from leaking, I used silicone surrounding the light. Essentially, it is a good product, but you need to order the thicker gasket that Amazon sells in order to effectively seal it.
It hasn't been too long since I saw the brake light. The LED work light does a great job, though.
