The 2014 double cab did not require them
There is not a rubber gasket, but rather a foam gasket with adhesive from both sides of it. I have had no issues with this unit at all. You can add a flasher to add some flash to the light.

I was able to connect to my stock plug without any problem. you have never replaced your stock third brake light before, then you will need an adhesive remover for the residue (on prying off the OEM one), a plastic pry tool, and new batteries to match the one from your old light. There are long Phillips head screws included with the kit that you will need to use. You won't be able to use those OEM star screws & With longer Phillips screws, the clips on the lockers will fit. The locker clips on one of my lockers went bad when I tried replacing them with another knock off from eBay where one wouldn't tighten up at all but that new set of screws & clips fixed the problem Fortunately, this third brake light was able to be tightened up without a In addition, when you go to install this, you will have to remember to use the adhesive backing attached to it & the brackets that came with the kit Despite the fact that it may not seem like it will seal at first, once the screws are tightened (don't go psycho) the seal will be perfect. Here is a helpful tip to help others during their.
The full breakdown is in the comment section. You will not receive instructions with the light, but I promise you that it is easy to understand. In order to install the light on my 2012, I back out the screws from the original and then pry on the casing with a plastic pry bar and then cut back the gasket with a putty knife. The project took five months to complete Ten minutes later, it came out without a problem. Taking time to clean the old gasket residue off after removing the old light is the quickest way to do so. Using isopropyl alcohol, the paint came off fairly easily, but make sure you clean the area surrounding the paint Once the light has been mounted, you can start wiring it. If you notice that the harnesses are not a direct match, it isn't that big of an issue. Simply remove the original clip from your old light and leave two inches on each end You need three inches of wire and the ends need to be stripped. Make sure that the wires on the new light are cut and stripped. While the colors aren't in tune, if you examine closely, you'll be able to tell what's going on. The wire on my old light was white with a brown stripe, so I matched it with the thickest wire on the new one. Lastly, clip your harness together, and I used the original screws to mount the harness - be gentle with the gasket. After the head is installed, the head is painted black with a paint pen. It is done. Please see below for more information.
I am really happy with the quality and look of this product. There is a lot of glue in the third stock, which you have to cut through to take it off . Toyota factory glues it with some type of weatherproofing foam glue that you have to wash That's all there is to it. Just plug it in and it will work. I highly recommend this.
A very nice looking kit. It fits 06 Tacoma DCSB's.
Plug and play cannot be done. The hardware is mysterious and the instructions are lacking. As someone who is pretty handy, I am wondering how this is possible for this unit looking at the hardware. Rather than replace the original nylon screw tabs, I used the original nylon screws. You will need to cut out the tiny screw size holes in the supplied gasket so that it can accommodate the size of the I used some black drywall screws because I needed longer screws than the originals. Despite the lens being smoke, the screws that came with it What's so appealing about silver screws paired with blackout lenses? According to this image, the gasket appears to be not sealing properly This product isn't likely to last a long time in my opinion.
In addition to the holes not aligning, there are no instructions in the box and the mounting hardware included in the box is so cheap that it took 45 minutes to attach it. I'd like to believe it will keep out water, but the new gasket is so cheap that I have no confidence in it. The original one will be discarded in the trash and a better one ordered from a different vendor.
The description implies that it can be simply plugged in and used. After cutting off my old gasket, I changed the gasket with a new one Once they took it apart, it turned out their connector was too big to plug into the Toyota factory Wire stripping isn't worth it, or it wouldn't be as effective as it can be A connection made by hand will never be as solid as one made with a single strand of wire from the factory. Aside from being misleading, their ad for it is very poor.
When you remove the rear trim to get to the headliner, they don't tell you that all of it has to come out. It is NOT easy to install LED lights just for the sake of being able to upgrade them. Get LED bulbs as a gift for yourself!.
It took an extremely long time to complete this installation. A very thick gasket is required for this light In the unfortunate event that you happen to have one like I did, make sure you have some type of gasket maker (use a lot). Also, the plug prongs are too thick, making it impossible to fully insert the plug. The hardware that came with it is worthless. I had to use the ones I had using my old screws and modified my old plastic nuts so that the light and plug would fit This book has such good reviews, I wonder how it got so many. My 2nd gen Toyota Tacoma is equipped with this system.
