Selected User Reviews For 3rd Brake Light for 1999-2007 Chevrolet Silverado/ GMC Sierra 1500 2500HD 3500 Third Cargo Lamp High Mount Stop Light (Red Lens)
My 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD needed a facelift. I purchased these to improve its lighting and appearance. A simple pull of the old light was sufficient to remove it. Getting rid of the old light will require breaking the foam seal around it. In contrast, installing a new light isn't the same thing as replacing an old one. The installation of the light is straightforward. I tested the light assembly before installing it, and I did a test fit. One of the clips must be squeezed together, due to the fact that it would not stay in place over the hole that one of the mounting screws used. Having to deal with the foam seal (gasket) that is included with the light was the more painful part. When I installed the seal/gasket the assembly was mounted on the light assembly, which is a mistake I should have avoided. If I were to do it again, I would recommend mounting to the vehicle's body, where the light will be mounted. By lining up the two screws used to attach the light to their mounting holes, it will be easier to line up the screws. that you need to do is to use the rubber "O" rings over the screws once you have put the screws into the light Having that information on hand helps align the light into the opening in the roof panel in which it My light is now equipped with a gasket. Having to remove the light to reposition the screw body clip would be annoying, but it would be fine if you didn't have to remove it to tighten the light. It is a hassle to remove a light after it is first installed. One advantage to adhesive on foam is that, once installed, it cannot be removed. However, I hope my comments can be of help to.
It was easy to follow the instructions for installing the software. In fact, you just need to remove two screws on each end and unplug a couple of cables in order to remove the old brake light and do the same steps again in order As for the aesthetics of the brake light, it looks sleek and is an improvement over the OEM part. However, as for the light output, I was hoping for a lot more brightness due to the fact that it is an LED. I would have liked it a bit more bright, but otherwise it's fine. In short, I still recommend this 3rd brake light if you are looking to upgrade your aesthetic looks on your car, but if you want something that is exceptionally bright, perhaps you should look.
The factory light was well weathered and needed to be replaced. The light now looks so much better, and installation was a snap, and the gasket sealed very This item comes with an extra pair of wires not shown in Amazon's The resistor for the LED's is what I thought it was.
In comparison to my stock old one, this one looks much better. The original screws fit back into the new one easily, and I only had to do it once. It looks like everything is in working order, including the lights.
Compared to stick lights, this is a big improvement. It seems that the product allows for easy installation, as opposed to the ones that leak water onto.
I just purchased the cargo light and it is not bright ( could be truck issue?) Easy install but not bright. A brake light that is very bright is a ).
Replacing the faded and corroded factory light with this light seems like the right thing to do. The supplied gasket looks like it seals well, and the fit is very good. Our 300 days of sunshine will give us a better idea of how it will treat this.
The interior of the 2004 Silverado, a 2 door regular cab, had a bad leak. I bought this because the third brake light I previously installed was not very old but caused the issue in 100% of cases.
The item came here the next day, was packaged well, and easy to put together. The car has undergone several rainstorms since replacement - plus an automatic carwash - and several heavy rains since replacement – Leaks are not allowed!.
