The white clips that are mounted to the posts on the floor are included with it.
In my case, it was the same as what you described. It may be necessary to look at the floor posts. A piece of plastic that is attached to the post has broken.
In order to stop the foot rest from snapping into place, the existing white posts will need to be screwed off the truck and then broken out of the foot rest. The new white posts can then be snapped out of the footrest and then threaded on to the truck. Initially, it didn't work, but I was able to get it working.
There is no need to do this step for 4Runners, as it is only for FJ Cruisers equipped with automatic transmissions

I recently bought a used FJ The paint is not great, but it has low mileage It was a bit dirty inside, but it was fine once I washed it It took only a few weeks for the footrest to become I found a piece of glue in the footwell that had been glued back by some previous owner. Be careful and don't wait too long before replacing on the bottom of the new footrest, there are two studs that poke up from the floor to accept the "white clips," and I have already trampled one, slightly bent it, but it has not broken. This new footrest simply slid into place (it requires a firm press and you might hear a ratcheting sound as the clips bite into the threaded/grooved studs. Check a few sites to confirm the exact part number for your VIN. When my VIN was verified, I was told I'd added the wrong part number to my cart, when I tried to order from some online Toyota parts place. It was recommended that I buy this part number, and lo and behold, it was less expensive on Amazon Yea !).
A while back, I had to remove the kick panel from my 4runner and broke the one on the 4runner. The item was ordered to replace the damaged one. I received the OEM part in a bag with a Toyota sticker and a label with the part number. In a matter of seconds, I had installed the software. You just need to slip it over the mounting screws, then press Simply jump in the vehicle and stomp it down until it's fully seated. To do so, simply ratchet it down and it will be seated.
I am replacing it with a new one because mine has cracked. A weak point is the post that holds it on the wall. The hint is A white plastic nut holds the old one in place with one way pops on As soon as they screw off, they are gone. Then you'll save yourself a bunch of time and a lot of.
I ordered this part FJ35032) is the correct one for the FJ
Part delivered was a completely different part number and significantly smaller than I required. I gave it a 3 out of 5 star review because it was so easy to return and.
Installing the part for the first time was a breeze.
The product conforms to the specifications. Same as the original, so hopefully this one won't break as quickly as the last one. Known for breaking on all FJ Cruisers, this is a common issue. tiny as it might be, it can still be a nuisance.
Those who speed up should In bringing my fj home, I noticed that it had been removed. Since I was not sure why it had been removed, I love the fit and the style. This product came with all the clips you need to install it. It's now clear why the previous owner removed it, as unless your foot is no wider than the clutch pedal, this rest is in the way of pushing it down fully. There is a bad design on the Toyota.
Aftermarket alarm installer broke the original, so this just pops into place. Direct OEM replacement for your floppy footrest.
