They worked well on my Forrest River Cardinal 5 wheel after I purchased and installed these hinges. The hydraulic rod that held the door open made a huge difference over the single hydraulic rod we had in our RV when we just got back from a month long trip. In my case, the rod entry system only allowed me to open my door half way, but with friction hinges, I am able to do that fully or just a little, depending on how much space I need. Product of the highest quality!
For one door, there are two hinges
The simple way As well as a metal drill bit, a tape measure (or you can eyeball it) and a screw driver, you'll also need a screw After you figure out the direction, the first time will take you ten minutes, and then the second will take you five

I found the installation fairly easy, and the program seems to be working as advertised. They are pretty well matched with other hinges. A 2020 Jayco Jayflight 284BHS is fitted with this system. Although I haven't tested it in high winds, I can safely say that no kids will slam the door. A little bit of a wind update This morning, there was a wind gust of 19 mph. The player is not able to remain in the same position for very long, but he doesn't So I am a little unsure about the wind speed claim of 25mph.
The reason for this is easy to understand since they were never that tough to break. A few years ago, I wished I had known about these when I saw them on another camper! It is no longer necessary to worry about wind, to worry about door damage or to worry about catch mechanisms. Adding friction to your door eliminates the need for anything else to be attached to it, and they're easy to install with some simple tools. Although I would not trade the new door for anything in the world, it takes a little getting used to the new feel.
These are the ones I purchased for our fifth wheel to facilitate entry. My door used to be messy and out of control before I put these in I had to hold on to it As long as I leave the entrance open as much or as little as I want, the door stays open.
They may take a while to become accustomed to since the door is stiff to open or close, but once you get used to it, it becomes natural.
I love the way this works!.
I was ecstatic to see friction hinges on the new RV. I wrote about them when I wrote about the new model RV. I really enjoyed how easy they were to install and how well they worked.
With these hinges, the door does not move even in strong winds, and they are very easy to install.
The only one you need to install is this one. I don't want to have two hinges because they offer too much resistance. Once the door has been manually moved, it remains in the same position. As part of the hinge installation, the pneumatic closer was removed. It was easy to install.
It's easy to use these hinges! It should be standard equipment in all RVs.
