paid the extra charge for the four pack to ensure that I would have it at home when I returned. While I was checking into my hotel room, I watched some YouTube videos to prepare The broken end of my door was the only part that was broken when I took it apart. The remaining 3 will be kept in case I need them in the future. My intention was to choose the correct one from the 4 pack once I opened it up. (The package contains 3 of a style and a fourth style that is different from the others. Upon removing the old sheath and/or end completely, the part is made to fit the factory cable end. During the manufacturing process, knurling was applied to the last half inch or so of the cable to make it more likely to grip the original outer plastic A bit of extra diameter meant the aluminum end was difficult to place all the way on. By lightly whacking my palm on the aluminum piece with a screwdriver, I opened up the gap that runs the length of it. Even though I had to put a modest amount of effort into getting the new cable end located exactly right, there seems to still be a nice grip on As for the crimper, I didn't follow up with one, although I have seen or read where others did so. The report will be updated if anything goes wrong. (If anything goes wrong, I'll come back to update this report. )
Tip- In the upper corner of the lower door panel, you can see a black plastic push pin that is for the assembly line worker to get the panel in position quickly before they install the 10mm nut and then the two A push pin in the heat has been baking for 20 years and is about You don't need to worry about In any case, the other 3 fasteners, as well as the mounts built into the door panel that help it engage with the door frame, will hold everything in place.
have used this product to repair two of the suicide doors on my 2001 Ford F150. Of note, I had to stretch the slot a bit to fit the size of the cable at the top It was just a matter of tapping the flat-head screwdriver (with a small hammer) a few times. It worked like a charm and I was able to perform a repair that would have cost hundreds of dollars without this My search for a video guide on YouTube was relatively easy. I just typed in '1992' and found one with relative ease. Having trouble opening the rear door on a 2013 F150? Here's a $10 fix!.
Replacement parts in the rear door of the F150 extended cab pickup were broken so we used this to replace those. If you have mechanical skills, you can do this fairly easily. A locknut is used to secure the Torx head screws that hold the upper and lower latch plates in place There is a strong bond between them so you have to use force to remove them. You can find videos on YouTube that demonstrate how to access It is a shame that the OEM part is plastic, but it is what it is. As part of the master plan, return service business will continue to thrive.
I ordered them and they fit my 2001 F150 perfectly. To replace my other door before it falls apart, I purchased another set as the original plastic ones have become extremely brittle after 20 years of use. Let's say the time required to install them was 1 hour. I took my time and explored as I went along, and it took me a total of 5 hours.
It is rare that I give five stars You must rate the stars. I found this product to be very effective. It was stated in several reviews that the cables were hard to install. This product worked perfectly to restore my door that was stuck. It did an excellent job. Performing this repair should not be attempted by a beginner. With a basic understanding of automotive repair, having adequate tools on hand and a solid understanding of how to use them, you will get the job done well.
There were no problems with the installation, it was easy and straight forward. I am impressed with the replacement of the cable connection for the top door. This saved well over $200 in time and effort. We started and finished in one hour and fifteen minutes. If you have problems with the rear 1/2 door of your F150, this is definitely something you need to try.
These are my second set of these that I've installed on my '99 F-150 The Superduty pickup is a 250. It only had a description of the replacement process, but there are several YouTube videos that demonstrate the While some reviewers have complained about them not fitting perfectly, these do indeed fit perfectly.
They have aluminum grommets that are perfectly sized to fit In addition, one of the grommets had a square head so that it fit into the upper door latch without having to modify This product is a great choice to fix the rear doors on a Ford F-150.
