Despite its poor quality, this item is still good. I was under the impression that this part will fit my 2003 Malibu, but it does not. My vehicle actually has a different part on the left and right doors. It's not the fault of Amazon. The part even says it fits on the Dorman website. I obtained documentation from my Chevy dealer that shows my vehicle has different parts available. There are differences in the cutouts in the metal of the picture and the factory part. The attached photos illustrate the differences. Dorman no longer has a replacement for this and the factory part has been discontinued. The blue part is a factory part. It will be wise to buy one from Salvage Yard or maybe I will get one from a You can find the factory part for $15 if you can find it. Until then, I resolved the issue by tying zip ties to the wire. There were two of them. I've attached a picture of how the zip ties were used in case anyone is in the same situation as me.
Images can be found here. According to Ford, there were more than one style of door lock used on the 1994 Ford Ranger. In the case of a lock such as mine (see picture), these will not work. There are only two types of Dorman clips that will fit the Rangers one with the lock cylinder, one with the SCREW at the back to hold on to the clip. The arm for that kind of lock is not available from Dorman if your clips snap on to the back of the It is however done by a company called Auveco. Obviously, part no. 17119 will work on other styles of lock cylinders as well.
My sincere thanks go out to you. A door lock on this Explorer did not work when I bought it, but I didn't think much about it until the battery died. The first time I shorted the starter to open it electrically, there was just enough life in the battery. I found that the second time the battery was so far gone that it was showing as dead, so I used aaa batteries. Now it doesn't matter whether it has a battery or not, I can unlock it. There was no problem with the linkage, it was Please note that for the '04 Explorer, there are 2 types of locking, one ending and one beginning in February 2004. In the first case, it is a half moon and in the second case, a It's best if you get one of each type. This article should at least be e-mailed to me There is no difference between the clips.
Everything seemed to be ok, or so I thought until I noticed a small clip holding In this case, the clip held the rod securely in place and provided enough tension to pull the The clip that broke in my Rodeo is no longer made since it is 20 years old. It was on sale for $5, and I decided to take a chance on it. A clip included in the package fits into the hole nicely and holds the rod in position. My expectation is that I won't have this vehicle long enough to experience any more problems with it, but it is a little loose and may eventually fail.
All you need to replace are door latches, which would cost $1200! The doors can almost be replaced for that much money if you put a little effort into it.
I found the yellow part to fit perfectly on the tailgate latch fix on my 2001 Ford Ranger If you have a 0L xlt, replace both of them while you're in there. It takes literally 10 minutes to perform. If you put a little grease on the mechanism it will operate smoother.
This kit is for the tailgate latch on my 99 Ford Explorer. Sadly, the latch rod is too big for the clamp, causing too much stress to be put on the plastic, resulting in the clamp breaking under repeated stress.
It was exactly what I needed to fix my 93 Ranger's tailgate. I don't think you can throw a tailgate party if your tailgate won't open! It was a very quick and easy install and we now have a working.
