There is a gated water pump in the picture. Water pumps from gates brand seem to offer good service and a long life in my shop.
In fact, it does. I bought it when I bought my 03 Civic This was the case for 7.
It wasn't marked with a manufacturer's label, as I recall. As well, the water pump did not have any markings on it. I was really impressed with the quality of the entire kit. There has been a recent change in the integrated parts of this kit. You may note that this kit is identical to the ACDelco kit, which also comes with the Gates belt and a similar water pump. Depending on the supplier, the tensioner may be manufactured by Gates, ACDelco, or another company.
The kit with waterpump is good, but don't get it with the water pump because it started leaking after 18,000 miles. Buy a gates timing belt component kit and go to Honda to get a Honda factory water pump to avoid having to replace it twice within less than 2 years, as
Selected User Reviews For Gates TCKWP312 Engine Timing Belt Kit with Water Pump
The timing belt and water pump in this combination I purchased in 2014 at 198K miles. The water pump was replaced in 2018 at 255K because of a leak. Although I don't know if the water pump was responsible for premature seal failure, I had a thermostat seize closed and heat my engine right before my water pump failed, so I don't know if that caused it to overheat. Installing the water pump, tensioner, and timing belt was as straightforward as it was possible. Fit and function appear to be high quality, and it fits perfectly if I have to replace it at 311K mi. If I have to replace it again at that time, I will feel that I got my money's worth. Purchasing a separate water pump would definitely be the best option if that problem is due to the water pump.
After looking at reviews, the price, and the fact that Gates has always been the leader in belt manufacturing, I chose the Gates kit since I am a Honda enthusiast and like to do my own repairs on my Hondas whenever possible. The mistake was easy to see after about 18,000. With 20,000 miles on the vehicle, I noticed a small antifreeze leak in my garage and, after further investigation, I found it was coming from under the timing belt cover, which could only mean the water pump is leaking. You can either purchase an Aisin pump kit, which everyone says is made in Japan for Honda, or pay the extra money to get a water pump from your local Honda dealer.
*BEAR WITH ME! There are four bolts on the water pump. A bolt needs to be inserted in the bottom left corner of the pump, as it is shorter than the others. was ignorant of this and began tightening the bolt because I thought it was the one that was needed. SNAP it! The head has not yet been fixed. In order to seal the pump, I used additional black RTV gasket maker. I haven't had any leaks since the tension of the water pump is applied towards this bolt instead of away from it (which would pull the pump away from the head). The bolt I used in this situation was a steel bolt enclosed in an aluminum head, so I was unable to use a right angle drill to remove it. I wish you the best of luck. Therefore, be cautious once again! You should hand-tighten each bolt and make sure it is screwed in as far as possible before using a wrench. The first mistake you want to avoid is this one. Besides that, the tensioner had a NSK bearing in it, along with the original bearing and the one that was in the kit prior, so I felt like the kit was made of quality components. The kit is a great one, except that it breaks the bolt!.
The water pump is leaking and making a grinding noise, water pump was replaced 28000 miles ago and the water pump is making a grinding noise. Great deal if you plan on not keeping the car longer.
It comes with a tensioner spring. On our 2003 Honda Civic EX, we used this kit. It is very important that you follow the directions to the letter. Make sure the tensioner spring is pointing in the right direction. Ideally, you want the hook open end facing away from the belt so that it won't get stuck on it and cause belt failure over time. A detailed description of the process can be found in the OEM Honda shop manual. You can complete this project in no time at all if you take your time.
Everything you need for changing the timing belt on a 2002 Honda Civic is included in this kit. The module should work with the following versions of Windows Since they all use the 1 in 2005, similarly they are all 2005 civics. They have 7L engines in them (double check before ordering). There can be no words of advice except for the manner by which the task should be completed. Do not continue until you get your crank pulley bolt off the crank! Watch your engine at TDC and break your crank pulley bolt free! The point of proceeding further is not worth it if you can't get the crank bolt loose. Before I began, I bought a dewalt 1/2" drive battery powered impact and it did just what it was supposed to do - remove the bolt quickly and easily!.
Bought this for my 01 Civic LX in order to replace the head gasket while changing the head gasket. Compare the price to some other listings on here, it was a great deal. whole process of installing it is fairly straightforward for those with mechanical aptitude. Please make sure that you have a 50mm cranium shaft socket! A pair of these will save you from a huge pain in the ass. I think the product appears to be well made and that it came with all the necessary items so that I could go ahead and replace the old one. I did not break it or wear it, but it was reasonable to install a new one while I had half the engine apart anyway.
If you're in need of a timing belt, pick this one up for half the cost.
I found this gates kit to be the most recommended for the Honda 1 after doing all the research I had done prior to the service. An electric motor that produces 7L. That's so cool! This kit comes with a longer tensioner bolt that Honda issued a TSB for!.
