Keeping a spare belt in the trunk of a 30-year-old car is a good idea A year ago A car that is old). The results of threading the belt up from the bottom and passing it over the tensioner with a coat hanger have been less than satisfactory both times. Despite its length, it is just barely long enough to reach, and only when it is done with enormous effort and frustration. The tool is longer and it fits perfectly into the space where I need to reach down and thread the belt. I haven't used it yet, but it should make my job easier next time. I wish there wouldn't be a next time, but with this car, you never know.
The product is strong and cheap, and does its job well. When I found this tool, I did not expect it to be so convenient The process of replacing my belt in such a confined space was frustrating enough without having this tool. I can't imagine trying to change a belt without it. This tool is a must have around the garage if you're someone who likes to do their own repairs for a fraction of what it would cost to take your car to a mechanic.
As soon as I saw the fork at the end, I noticed that it was not In fact, we bent the tooth outward at an outward angle while it should be square with Belt can slip when fork is bent down as it is. My only option would be to heat the end and bend to the proper angle, rather than returning the end.
Not a tool you'll use daily, but when you do, it's.
Easy to use, but awkward to navigate. Several belts still need to be positioned by two people. The one at the top and the one at the bottom.
A very handy tool. The engine bay is especially tight when there is a tight fit.
