Questions & Answers

Can I loosen the pulley on my 2004 Chrysler Van by turning it one way or the other?

If you are removing the pulley be sure to use a special tool, since the center bolt can be removed but outer bolt goes counter clockwise. The trouble I went through, it would have been worth buying a rebuilt alternator.

What does it look like on a 2005 3? Does the Chrysler Pacifica have an 8-liter engine?

This isn't the case, in my opinion. There is a difference between the 3 and this engine. In my opinion, the three are also true. In the minivan, there are eight seats. Modifications to the placement of components could be made

How does this compare to the 3 from 2006? Do you have 8L city ?

The software was installed on a Windows XP SP3 computer. The Dodge Caravan 8L engine. The gas mileage was hugely improved after I installed the system. I cannot speak directly about your vehicle, but I believe that it would be very similar.

I would like to know if this would fit a 2009 Toyota Voxy. ?

That's not the case, in my opinion. Make sure yours and the new one are the same size

These pulleys are as advertised, and they provide more clearance than factory pulleys
5/5

This is what I used on my 2003 Chrysler Town & Country This is the third country. I installed an 8L V6 engine in my 1992 Subaru Legacy for a grumbling noise I could hear at idle in Drive. In the white Gates box I found a very nice looking Litens-style exhaust. A pulley with a label. There is a very common problem with these vans, and it is easy to The alternator pulleys on each minivan needed to be replaced after weeks spent shopping for vans. You put it in Drive and you hear a grumble as soon as it starts. That and the power steering fluid reservoir, but we'll save that for another time (look it up, it's a common issue on 2001-2004 models) A bit later). In this section you will find information about installation Be sure to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery with a 10mm socket or wrench before attempting any For the 2001-02 fiscal year, When removing the serpentine belt from an 07 van, it is easier if the front is placed on ramps or jackstands, then the plastic splash shield is removed. When you're in there, look at the serpentine belt itself with a serpentine belt gauge to see if it's worn out, and inspect the tensioner pulley as well. It is likely that your van's tensioner should have been replaced long ago if it has over 100k miles. Under the van, you can quickly and easily replace either of them. Connect a 13mm socket to the alternator cable lead to disconnect the battery cable. *If you can, disconnect the electrical connector on the alternator field/control. You can also rotate it up after you remove the bolts listed below, as long as you can get it off. Once you have removed the bolts, you can replace the pulley this way. Unless you don't mind removing your alternator, you will need to remove the factory pulley. Two are on the front and one is on the back. There are three bolts, 15mm, I believe. Using the Lisle 57650 tool, I made the cut. It worked great except that it was too long to use with the alternator still in place. Can you try to remove the alternator without removing the pulley with a shorter tool instead of removing the alternator itself? It hasn't occurred to me to check.

You can use Amazon's vehicle fit lookup to find the right part as long as you have the right vehicle
5/5

Be sure to pay attention to your vehicle's make, model, year, and engine. DESCRIBE VERY SPECIFICALLY what you need. I urge you to take a good look at your car! The three in this one fit my needs. Chrysler town and country with a 3 liter engine. The complaint has been resolved. The Amazon Vehicle Fit Lookup works well as long as you know the information You need to fill out.

Remove the old pulley by following these steps
5/5

The Town and Country 3 I bought in 2006. I noticed that the 8L made the wah wah noise especially when in drive. It was replaced with this Gates pulley and the alternator was left in place. There was no noise left. Imagine that this pulley is one big nut, and the shaft of the alternator is like a bolt. In order to remove the nut, you turn counterclockwise, but this time, the shaft of the alternator would turn with the pulley. You can prevent the shaft from moving by either of two ways It's time to get that decoupler tool kit, including the 10 mm socket to prevent the shaft from moving and the 15 mm hex body to turn the pulley the opposite direction. Turn the pulley clockwise after you have stuck two or three screw drivers into the alternator shaft to stop the fan attached to the shaft from moving. In the second case, the nut on the alternator was stripped, which led to the second option.

I love it
5/5

Yesterday was the day to replace this pulley on my 2004. I love it. Yesterday I used this pulley to replace the old one on my 2004 Chry T&P There is no longer any annoying growling noise originating from the old pulley in my Model C with 92K miles. There are instructions included with this product regarding the removal and installation of the pulley, including torque specifications. As a side note (as it is a common question), I was able to rent the required special tool kit from O'Reilly Auto for free To determine if O'Reilly has this kit, search their internal website by this number and see if the EverTough Kit is 67004 - go to their internal website and enter this number in the search bar. At your location, a battery alternator repair kit is available. In order to install the pulley on my vehicle, I had to take the alternator completely off the car. When I tried to loosen the pulley with the special tool bits, it proved to be very difficult so I took it to a local machine shop and, with a couple of quick bursts of an impact wrench, it turned out to be quite easy! Maybe if I had a vise I could have put the alternator in, I would have had an easier time doing it. Moreover, if metal shavings are present when you remove the dust cover, as I had on my vehicle, this indicates that the pulley has a problem.

Everything works as it should now that I've removed the noise! There was a loud grumbling noise coming from the passenger side of my 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport as it idled (and drove), and I narrowed the problem down to a broken When I bought the Lisle 57650 tool set, I took out the alternator though it took me a long time to remove the old alternator decoupler pulley
5/5

However, even with a cheater bar I was unable to pull off the old pulley using the Lisle tool set. In the end, I took it to the local auto shop where I know the guys, who just gave it a turn with the impact wrench and it came It's time to get some air tools, I've learned! As I had no experience changing pulleys, it was easy to put new ones on and after reassembling the alternator, I replaced the serpentine belt and After I started the car, I noticed that it was very was astonished to find out it had worked exactly how I had predicted. The piece is also sturdy and well built, according to what I have seen. This might be helpful for someone else who heard a loud growling or grumbling.

Since the alternator must be removed, it is relatively easy to replace with the proper tool kit
5/5

Half the price of the parts store, with the right tool kit, you can easily change the alternator once you have removed it from the car. In my 2006 Town and Country, I tried leaving mine there but it stripped, though I have to assume the condition has been caused by the exposure to MN for 11 years. The alternator on my parents' 2005 Grand Caravan required some work after I had to remove it from the van but saved $200 that could have otherwise been spent on a new one.

If you cannot remove the old one with an allen wrench you may buy a special kit that will allow you to easily remove these pulleys
5/5

Here are the specs for the Caliber Y. A part like this is just what we needed to fix the OAD pulley on my wife's Although it is challenging to remove the alternator from the car, it is certainly worth the effort. A direct fit is provided by this pulley. If you cannot remove the old one with an allen wrench you may buy a special kit that will allow you to easily remove these pulleys. It is impossible to get the alternator out of the Caliber from the top, so you will have to remove it This job will take you approximately two hours to complete if you have basic hand tools and a jack Completing this task will take 3 hours.

I bought this to go with my 2006 Chrysler T and C
5/5

For my 2006 Chrysler Town and Country, this is the perfect fit. The cost was significantly less than local auto retailers, as well as the exact same part. It was easy to install, and the new pully eliminates the tedious clicker, clatter noise that used to occur from the old one.
