This belt fits a 2009 HHR with a 2. L Ecotec engine. I double-checked the part number on the AC Delco website and compared it to the original belt's part number, which had been on the car for almost 100,000 miles, so I replaced the belt and tensioner while performing other maintenance. Note: In most front-wheel-drive GM cars, replacing the belt and tensioner necessitates removing the passenger side engine mount. This requires the engine's assistance. You should leave this type of repair to a professional unless you have prior experience with it. br>br>When you consider the cost (or time) of replacement, I believe it is only logical to use original/OEM parts. After ten years and 100,000 miles, the original AC Delco belt was still in good working order.
To install, no other components were required to be removed. It's best to use a 14" long 3/8" square drive breaker bar or ratchet to rotate the spring loaded idler and grip nearby components with one hand while slipping the belt on with the other. Make sure the last pulley you slip the belt over isn't next to the idler pulley.
On-time delivery is a must. In my 2009 HHR, it just worked. However, it is a PITA to install in that car. Remove the splash guard, jack up the front left side, remove the wheel, buy, make, or find a thin enough and long enough belt tensioner releasing tool, remove the old belt, and thread the new belt into place while holding the tensioner in the release position. Close the door in the opposite direction. br>br>I'm hoping I'll never have to replace this car's water pump!.
0L engine. On my 2013 Chevy Equinox, I replaced the serpentine belt. With the right side of the engine jacked up and the right motor mount removed, replacing the tensioner and serpentine belt at the same time was a lot easier. The belt does what it's supposed to do.
This belt was purchased to replace one that had begun to crack. In terms of AC Delco, I'm not concerned. What matters most to me is knowing that my vehicle will make the journey. This is something I would gladly buy again.
This is a genuine GM part that performs like new.
I noticed some lagging in my original serpentine belt, so I replaced it, and my car is now more responsive, especially since I replaced the alternator a few months ago. I would recommend changing your serpentine belt every two years or so.
A great match for a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox LT AWD.
