Can you tell me how big the shaft is for the pulley?

The steering pump belongs to a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4. I bought it for a power steering pump. It works on my engine. If there is no different size shaft for this engine, then look for this engine. I purchased this about 7 years ago in still have no problem. I am not sure what car you are using it in but it works on this engine I have. Hope it goes well for you

A cracked pulley was found after installation
3/5

The pulley went on a brand new power steering pump for my 2001 Jeep Cherokee that was also purchased on Amazon. Although the pulley had been installed correctly, it was very tight when it was installed. The shaft has been too tightly attached to the hub, so you can clearly see the small hairline cracks radiating from the hub to the three holes. After spending most of the morning removing it from the pump, I left it to dry. There will not be a second Dorman pulley purchase for me. The power steering pump I bought

Installation Manual For New Power Steering Pump For Jeep Cherokee XJ & Cherokee RJ TJ 4. Jeep Wrangler. The following is the result of 0L. Purchase Auto Parts at PurchaseAutoParts. com Update on 00274AN In regards to the cracking of the pulley, I spoke with a Tech support guy at Dorman. It has a pulley on the shaft and a pulley on the pulley. An interference fit with a nominal size of 005 inches. In addition, he couldn't believe that the bushing could expand so much, he could hardly believe this was possible! The shaft is going to be compressed, does he think. Neither he nor the + - mentioned what the + - meant Machine tolerances are set by the manufacturer. This is what I believe to be true. An investment in a press of 005 is way excessive for this use case. An aluminum bushing is basically an aluminum bushing Polycarbonate material is used for molding. As for the OEM Mopar pulley, I will purchase that and see to what extent it My next step will be to measure them before I install.

My 99 Jeep Cherokee is compatible with this part
5/5

I found it to be a good fit for my 99 Keep Cherokee. My bad luck was that the shaft I had was so tightly-tolerated that I was unable to adjust it. To get this thing installed, I had to struggle so much with the pulley installer tool. The act of doing it literally left my hands in pain. As of now, it appears to be going well. Whether or not this part will last will depend on how it is maintained.

I had to cut it off in order to remove it
3/5

In the process of installing a new pump, and almost done, I stood away for a moment, and the pump fell to the ground, chipping the That was my mistake. I took out the old OEM one from the old pump, but there were two hairline cracks in it, so it could not be used. Once I had pulled the Dorman pulley off the new pump, the metal lip on the bearing on the pulley began to separate, rendering the steering pump pulley tool ineffective. The only way I could do this was to break the plastic off completely and cut the rest off with a saw blade. Here is a picture of a metal lip that peeled off and cut a.

There is not enough space in the hole
3/5

The pulley installation tool I used for my professional installation broke before the pulley had been completely installed If the pulley is in an oven at high temperature for a while and your pump is in the freezer overnight, you might try that. There are small holes in Doreman pulleys, according to my mechanic. There's a lot of polishing to do. I believe that the problem lies in translating from the stupid English system to the metric one.

In the end, you pay for what you get
3/5

After installing the product a few weeks ago, I had to remove a wedge that seemed to be connected to two sides of the plastic mold so that it wouldn't tear up my serpentine. Other than that, it has so far held up just fine.

It is designed for Jeep TJ Rubicon models 2006 and up

I like the part. It is easy to Voici a tip The new power steering pump must be installed prior to pressing on. This is much simpler than the previous method. As soon as it reaches a certain tightness, do not press any more. To put it another way, don't crush it, but make it You will not be able to move it.

There was some difficulty mounting it on the pump, but it is working well
4/5

Yes, it is plastic, but it matches the previous one that was also plastic. My Jeep Cherokee sport (2000 model, black) had this put in about five days ago. It was tricky to put on the pumps, but it's fine. Yes it's plastic, but the previous pump was My network did not go down and worked in the way I expected. I am giving it 4 stars for now as we will see how long it lasts. I will update if it deteriorates in the future.
