It really works. An LS 6 was dropped. In a 1971 Lemans, a 0L was achieved. Pulley was slamming into the steering box, so I gave one of these a shot. Some people claimed it would cause the pump to turn too quickly, but I've had no problems and my power steering hasn't changed. To get the belt to line up, you have to push the pulley down further than usual, so if you don't have the right tools, it could be a challenge. br>Because it is made of metal rather than plastic, it is extremely durable. br>It's a fantastic solution.
This is a huge improvement over the plastic model. The plastic one became as brittle as plate glass after a year, chipping pieces off with the slightest touch of a tool. This one is extremely well welded and machined out of aluminum.
PS pump from a 4th generation Camaro is compatible. Because it's a little smaller, the pump speed is increased. The spokes are useful for accessing the pump bolts, so you'll probably need a shorter belt.
On my gbody ls swap, it worked perfectly.
This part was particularly appealing to me because it was made of metal rather than nylon.
My new power steering pump works perfectly with it.
Perfect fit in a 1971 Chevelle with power steering after an LS swap. By 3/4", I was able to clear the steering gear.
