Use this instead of the factory Ford hose! This is a fantastic concept
5/5

Two of the factory Ford hoses on my f150 have started to leak. I'd have to pay for a replacement after the warranty ran out. No way was I paying $300 for it. It was replaced because of this. This was a lot less expensive. The quality is excellent. The only problem I had was getting the hose to fit over the barb. I had to spray silicon on the tank barb and soak the hose in boiling water for longer than the instructions stated, and it took me two hours to get it on with both hands in leather gloves and someone holding the tank. It was a real annoyance! It's a tight fit, to say the least. Install the clamps and put it through its paces. I took a look at the clamps and made sure they were in good shape. No leak. Yay. It's still good after six months. So far, I'm pleased with the product; however, I should warn you that getting it on the tank is not easy. However, it is significantly less expensive and superior to the shoddy Ford-designed hose. This is something I would recommend to any 5 year old. There are no owners who require hose replacement. The instructions were clear and concise.

Is it simple to set up? HA! I'm torn between giving this product a positive review and giving it a negative one
3/5

It's well-made and provides a good solution to a problem with which Ford failed. The install is the source of my issue. I consider myself a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to working on my cars or around the house, but this was one of, if not THE HARDEST, things I've ever installed. The company provided very clear and easy-to-follow instructions. The only tricky part is getting the hose on the reservoir nipple; everything else is a piece of cake. When I say "I tried everything," I mean it. Nothing, not even boiling it in water for 7 minutes or cooking it in the oven, as some have suggested, could soften this enough to put on the nipple. Wd40, dish soap, and coolant went into the tube. Nothing seemed to work. While attempting to install this device, I tore up my hands, bruised my forearms, and broke another part of my truck. It's almost amusing that people say it's simple to put on. It's ridiculous how difficult it is to put this thing on. I was at a loss for words and had to call a friend for assistance. We boiled it for about 10 minutes, then took it out and smashed it over his nipple. I wouldn't know what to do if he hadn't stepped in. Apart from that, everything appears to be in order! Just make sure you have a good group of friends.

This is an excellent kit for repairing the Ford F-150
5/5

150 gallons of coolant have leaked. The kit arrived fully assembled and was incredibly simple to put together. Some people were having trouble getting the hose over the large portion of the reservoir nipple, which I noticed. There were no issues at all for me. I drained the radiator until it was just dripping. I didn't pre-heat the room because the temperature was around 65 degrees. I simply put a little coolant on the inside part of the hose after cutting it for proper indexing, and the coolant acted as a lubricant, and the hose slid right on with minimal effort. The coolant I used was a 50/50 premix from Motorcraft. I didn't have to take anything out of the reservoir tank. The clamping went well, but as I tightened it, the upper clamp on the reservoir side kept sliding up and off the larger lip of the reservoir nipple. It tightened up fine with no slipping once I got it centered (meaning the band clamp had to be in the middle of the high part of the nipple; this will be a challenge because you'll have to look at it from multiple angles to ensure you're centered all the way around). It's a no-brainer for the rest of it. Looking back, I believe I could have avoided the clamp sliding problem if I had not used any lubricant on the hose when attaching it to the reservoir nipple. Also, check your coolant level every morning for at least three days after you've used it. It takes several cycles for the air pockets to disappear. Time required to install the kit in total; 1 hour.

0 Perfect Answer! For the past two winters, I've had a quick connect leak and have finally decided to address it. I attempted to replace the o- with a different one. Even with the ring on, it leaked. I installed this kit, and it looks great and was very simple to put together. I had to cut about 1" off both ends, boil the coupler for about 1 minute, and use a little liquid wrench to get it on the tank with minimal effort; I didn't have to remove my tank to do this. Because you can feel where the hose clamps go through the hose, you can tell where they go. It took about 1 hour to complete the installation. I would strongly suggest it.

So far, it appears to be working well
5/5

It took a lot of effort to get this thing up and running properly. To avoid it touching the cylinder head, I had to trim the larger side down about 2". It's difficult to get it all the way up the neck and secure the upper clamp, but once you do, it's a great tool. Hopefully, this will solve my problem with coolant leaking from the coolant reservoir neck on my 2011 F-150.

I would strongly suggest it

It does exactly what it says it will and saved me a lot of money on replacing the air box and factory hoses. Since installation, there hasn't been a single drop of water. Instead of using boiling water, I used a heat gun to warm the hose for installation, but either method should work fine. It's a little challenging to get started, but it's well worth the effort. This was for my 2012 F150, but I'm thinking of getting another just in case I need it for my 2013 F150.

This is a fantastic solution! It did exactly what it said it would do
5/5

I cut about 2" off each end of the hose in the end. Pro tip: Before installing, use a hair dryer to warm the reservoir side of the hose for a few minutes. It's far from simple.

Quality on par with Pegasus

Tip: use the boil water method (boil water and let the elbow soak for a few minutes before installing) to fix the dreaded quick connect leak at the reservoir on my 2012 EcoBoost. To get it over the entire reservoir barb, be prepared to tug hard. It wasn't a difficult installation, but it did require some effort. There have been no leaks since installation, and the unit appears to be brand new.
