Selected User Reviews For Gates 23364 Premium Molded Coolant Hose
My old lower radiator hose had a pin-sized leak and was dripping coolant into my garage one drop at a time. My expansion tank had to be refilled on a regular basis, and my fan clutch had to go into overdrive to keep the engine cool. br>br>As soon as I figure out who's to blame, I start looking for a new hose. This hose fits my 2008 Explorer Sport Trac perfectly and is significantly less expensive than those sold by AutoZone, Advanced Autocrat, and Oreilly. It's even less expensive than most online stores. br>br>For the record, do not purchase Duralast from AutoZone; it is a Walmart brand of extremely low quality that sells for twice the price. br>br>Gates has always been a dependable brand for auto parts. Get Gates for peace of mind; I'm not endorsing them; I'm just speaking from personal experience. Their merchandise is of higher quality and lasts for a longer period of time. br>br>I've had it on for a few weeks now and it's been great. There won't be any spills because there won't be any leaks. Another thing to remember is that this hose does not include a spring to keep it from collapsing. According to Gates' website and other online forums, a spring is not required for these newer hoses. I'm not sure about your vehicle, but I don't want a piece of metal rotting in the hose and metal segments running through your engine and transmission. Note to self and others: br>br> Do not purchase another Ford vehicle; after 100,000 miles, things begin to leak and break.
When I couldn't find the OEM, I went with Gates for the upper and lower hoses. This was a lot less expensive and worked perfectly! It was also delivered one day ahead of schedule. Amazon is to be thanked. The Gates products come highly recommended by me.
It appears to be of the same high quality as the original Ford radiator hose, and it fits perfectly.
Note: The interior support spring is not included, so you'll have to remove and replace it yourself. Replace the old one with the new. Because this is the lower suction hose, the support spring is required to keep it from collapsing. The spring should not rust if you use the right antifreeze.
The delivery time was very short.
It's a hose, in case you didn't notice. less expensive than the original. Continue to enjoy your spring. It's a hose, as you might have guessed. It's not dripping at all. br>br>It lacked the internal spring found in OEM and namebrand units. br>I simply re-used the original spring.
It performs as expected.
The item is extremely long-lasting.
