This hose was used as an air pre heater hose on a Datsun 720 in 1980 Using a ball point pen, I measured the diameter of the aperture on the air intake stub and on the exhaust cover steel plate where the hot air is 1 *br* It should be 5" exactly, each time. There are no restrictions on the use of this hose. I will give you 5 points. You're absolutely right. Since it was supposed to fit an outside diameter- I envisioned it might be able to stretch a little- There was no mention of - Although the hose can be extended in length, there is not much give in diameter, so it was necessary to use some aluminum duct foil and clamps to form a secure connection (remember, it also My intention is not to fault the product so much as to warn you about how to use it.

This was ordered for my 1981 CJ7 258, which I have. In the picture, you can clearly see it does not fit as Amazon claimed it did. There is a considerable difference in size between this one and the factory model.
Amazon told me it would be perfect for my application, but it wasn't. The product itself is good except for that. The ID of the hole is 1 1/2 ".
An inner diameter that is too small. he said it's for my truck*. The mandrel was too small and I had to expand it.
I'm happy I made this choice. In California, the vehicle had to pass SMOG.
