The minivan in my 2010 motor) plastic Y's haven't failed. As it turns out, the original Y's are made of Nylon 66, a material that has a low service life. They typically fail at 60K miles, and mine at If you look on YouTube you will find many videos about this subject. Due to the fact that I was already changing my coolant, I decided to buy this set of Y hoses, since the plastic is now aluminum and won't wear out anytime soon. You can try kludge-ing together a fix (see YouTube), but I decided that the time involved was worth buying this complete solution. I was able to install it easily. There may be some other individual Y models available, but they're not recommended for the 2010 model year for unknown reasons. By using two separate Ys (about $24 each) and finding they're only recommended for '08 and up, I decided to throw them away I didn't think it was a good idea to go with the '09 MY. It may be possible to modify them so that they.
There is a weak point in these vans' cooling system that can be addressed by this modification. It was recommended to me by a technician in the area. In about 50k miles, the plastic factory assembly of the car failed and I was going to install it as an upgrade. My mechanic installed it in my garage and it should not be too difficult for most of us to do. In my case, I chose to upgrade the original clamps provided with the unit to wire style clamps since they are more suitable for my needs. During the process of installing the kit, I also changed the thermostat.
One of the few aftermarket products that are as good or better than OEM parts. In place of the cheap plastic fittings that break after 50k miles, the metal fittings are the superior choice. I just got my first set, and I'm pleased with them so far. The 2010 Chrysler T and C had a 3,8L engine so the installation went smoothly.
I was a little disappointed that the fitting joints were held together with screw clamps, but it will still do the job. On my clamp, I adjusted the position of the screws to allow them to be accessible when installed otherwise, they would face down or toward the engine and would be impossible to reach.
Is plastic really going to last when there is 220 degrees of water running through it and engine vibrations? I'm sick and tired of experimenting with plastic ones every couple years. It also became tiresome to have it crack at the most inconvenient times. Are you really certain that it will fail right in front of your mechanic or mechanic's shop. Putting an end to it once and for all would be worth a little more. Because installing the cooling system parts is difficult, I issued it a 3 for installation.
This is a significant improvement over OEM's, which were constructed of plastic tubing on the Y bifurcations that cracked and leaked. There are two aluminum tubing Dormans attached by isolating hose clamps to that are made of aluminum tubes. As a result, if a hose leaks, you can just replace the hoses rather than having to replace the entire.
As if it was made for you. The product is easy to install and has a heavy duty build. I'm tired of changing out the plastic Dodge Y connectors that leak after a couple of Because all the Ys are aluminum, this should be able to do the tricj. It should be done only once a year, not every three years I have used these instead of stock plastics for 4 years.
Even just looking at them wrong would probably cause them to burst. But these cast metal lamps will remain intact. In brief, yes. I'd say yes to that. As a matter of fact, if you have the inkling, I would just recommend buying these and replacing the originals. This will save you from having to deal with unavoidable roadside problems.
The parts are top quality and far superior to the originals. Since the engine is near where the replacements were located, it was a little tricky to replace them, but if you're patient, you should be able to get them installed in about.
