By reducing the ID hose to 1 1/2" OD radiator, an 1 3/4" ID hose can be used. In order to clamp it on, you slide the adaptor inside the hose and then slide it onto the radiator pipe. I have used it successfully on my 1947 Dodge.
The description said the one I purchased had an ID of 1 1/4 and an OD of 1 1/2, but I can't remember for sure.

It was not necessary to buy a new radiator or new hose. There was a difference in flange sizes between the old hose and the new. I can't believe it has been three months without a single leak of coolant!.

I used this material to create a lower radiator hose for a 1947 Dodge. I was pleased with its results.
To make a similarily aged Dodge Diesel radiator fit a 1999 Dodge Ram 5, I cut the bottom off of the radiator. It is powered by a 9L V8 Magnum engine. Despite its difficulties, this method of cooling Magum heads can be accomplished and is excellent for this particular problem. I am declaring it from South Texas.
