It is a by-pass hose that has been molded. It should work if the sizes are the same!
I also used it to purchase heater core hoses for an LS1 water pump, which should work fine.
The hoses that come out of your firewall go to your heater core, so if you have a coolant/heat hose going into your valve cover, you've got major problems. You can put a limit on them.

I was looking for exactly what I needed to re-start my business. My 96 Lincoln Town Car's heater core was routed. Under the intake hose, I was able to bypass it.
Its intended application in a car radiator is a far cry. But, hey, it does the job perfectly for me. Because it's in my bathroom, I wish it was white, but I can always wrap it in white duct tape. What matters is that it secures the drain hose over the commode's rim.
On an LS1 swap I did, I used it to bypass the heater core. It's certainly preferable to a large hose loop. I did have to trim one side a little to get them to line up, but given that this isn't the hose's intended use, it's not a big deal. Any LS application, including the 4, should work. 8/5. 3/6. There are no truck engines.
When used with the appropriate fittings, it's fantastic.
The heater core can be bypassed with this hose. Because a Ford water pump's ports are 5/8" in diameter, Simply cut to length and install 3/4".
It's effective.
This is a fantastic little hose. On my water-cooled boat exhaust manifolds, it worked perfectly.
