Is this something that could be done with a 2000 5? In a Suburban, three out of five? For my Packard, I'm using an engine. ?

It is a by-pass hose that has been molded. It should work if the sizes are the same!

Will this work on a Ls3 engine (to bypass the heater hose on the water pump)? Are you concerned about the different sizes of the ends?

I also used it to purchase heater core hoses for an LS1 water pump, which should work fine.

For engines that use the ls command. What happens to the small hose that connects to the valve covers from the heater inlet hose? cap it?

The hoses that come out of your firewall go to your heater core, so if you have a coolant/heat hose going into your valve cover, you've got major problems. You can put a limit on them.

Its intended application in a car radiator is a far cry. But, hey, it does the job perfectly for me. Because it's in my bathroom, I wish it was white, but I can always wrap it in white duct tape. What matters is that it secures the drain hose over the commode's rim.

For LS swaps, this is an excellent hose for heater core bypass

On an LS1 swap I did, I used it to bypass the heater core. It's certainly preferable to a large hose loop. I did have to trim one side a little to get them to line up, but given that this isn't the hose's intended use, it's not a big deal. Any LS application, including the 4, should work. 8/5. 3/6. There are no truck engines.
