If you would like to trim one or both of my Mercury 115 or 9 hp engines, I have both available. Be sure your clamp is not twisted or caught on anything where you clamp to the main motor. Before you embark on a trip, you should test it.
In fact, yes. It is just a couple of weeks since I bought one. By way of the tie rod, each motor is connected to the others through a ball and socket joint. Your big motor turns when you turn the steering wheel, and your kicker motor (in turn) turns when you turn the steering wheel. There isn't a very attractive setup because you have to mount the ball things wherever you can, and then you have to bend the rod before you can use it. The tradeoff is that you save 8 or 9 hundred dollars over a really nice remote steering system.

There is no reason why this shouldn't work. Due to tight tolerances, the rod end holes are drilled to such a fine level that there is so little wall thickness left that it cannot support the ball hole socket without breaking. It can be seen in the pictures above how the before and after pictures compare the rod end holes. As much as I liked it, I too liked how it ended I was steering my outboard as it spontaneously snapped in half yesterday when I was fishing. For some reason, I got a message about a broken link when I tried Amazon's vendor contact page. My problem is that I am The support is nonexistent and the product is worthless. The product is NOT recommended.
I had a steel rod for 10 years but the salt water finally had the last word. It had to be disassembled and greased every year in order for it to work. A stainless steel replacement finally broke my bank and I had been meaning to do so for many years. I was able to easily assemble my linkage because I already had one There were a lot of old hardware pieces that had to be replaced or cut out. If you take your time with salty motors, you are just one broken bolt away from turning a 30 minute job into an all-nighter.
My boat application was so different from what I was used to that it took me two hours to figure out how to make it work. Eventually, I came up with a combination that worked perfectly. (Don't give up if you have to be creative. ) Both motors can be raised independently. Don't cut the rod until you are sure it works correctly. As of now, the connecting rod can be removed and installed in just seconds, and it Apparently the connecting hardware for the outboards did not include screws, which makes sense. Overall quality is very high and I'm very pleased with the result.
For my 90 H, it was used to connect. I own a Yamaha to my ninth. There are 9 hours in the day. It could not have been easier, since both motors are mounted on the transom all I needed to do was cut them to the correct length.
On the last couple of boats I've owned, I've installed this. These come with quick disconnects at the ends, which I like. A good unit that is easy to hook up to my Evinrude, Yamaha and Tohatsu engines.
The steering wheel is a 2009 Suzuki 200 with a 9-inch screen. This is how it is made, so I had to cut a little off. It works great and is easy to do. I like how it looks as well.
