A good quality product looks to be there. To tap it in, I used a method I saw on YouTube where someone applied pressure to it with an oil filter cap wrench. It is a good idea to sit it all the way down, but it shouldn't be too hard or too far back. Once it is fully inserted, you will be able to tell by looking at it. As well as applying grease to the inside of the rubber, I wrapped the rubber around some grease.
In the process of replacing my plastic axel dust covers on my 2017 F250 after replacing my u joint, I replaced these Exactly what I was looking for! Tap them in place, but do not overdo it, they will not stay in place tight.
That's how it should be. To install the seal, I used a hockey puck and a hammer. The filter was easy to install, didn't damage anything and fit very snug, without a problem.
Amazon incorrectly lists this as a rear inner seal, but it is actually the updated front axle dust seal for a dana 60. I have a 2008 F350 4x4 and this worked flawlessly.
It fits my 2008 Ford F250 very well. I installed it using one of my cup holders from the ball joint press. This is a much better style than the original.
The factory installed this when the car was new, so this is a much better upgrade.
The description is accurate. It would be worthwhile to.
