The answer is yes. The steering is greatly enhanced by them, as they fit well and feel great under the wheel. There is a lot of motion of the power steering rack due to the soft factory bushings.
I think so! For my 2000 4Runner Limited, I purchased this bushing set, installed them myself, and it works flawlessly, no problems at all

The bushings were an excellent upgrade from the stock ones. I found the instructions easy to follow, the product fitted perfectly, and it eliminated the steering wheel vibration that I had at 55 years old My only complaint is that the very small blister pak of grease did not fully coat all of the bushings. I had to buy an 8 ounce container of grease in order to cover all bushings. The same grease can be added to a second tub to have a sufficiently large.
Make sure you While the bushings were easy to install on the left and right sides, the bushing in the middle repeatedly came loose. My middle bushing was difficult to attach, so I had to press it in numerous times to get it to stay. It was easiest to remove the old rubber bushings by cutting off the rubber at one end of the rack and using a mallet and an a** socket to punch it out from the middle and left side of the rack. It consists of a D & D I do not need to explain how easy it was to install and remove the clamp bushing. Upon installing the kit, I no longer had any bump steer when driving on uneven or bumpy roads or braking hard. In the absence of shot bushings, the car was able to steer instantly rather than experiencing what seemed like a short delay. It was easier to steer hard and fast, as the body roll was reduced. The bushings themselves were great, but they were tough.
My '99 4R, MT SR5 'Highlander' was installed with this kit. It was installed without any problems, with no missing parts or fitment issues. The car handles far better if it has been aligned. After an alignment the vehicle will go straighter, make turns, and take bumpy roads with less difficulty. There is far less rattling now and the feel is much smoother. negative comments to make about this product. I continue to see positive results and perfect performance even after five months. DO use more of the super-safe product in your daily lives. There is tacky bushing grease instead of what they provide. You will not be able to use squish if you don't have squish When I came out to clean up, I didn't use enough water. Despite having only an 8oz tub, I used it to replace full suspension bushings in the 4R and another older Toyota, and the 4R got the R&R treatment as well. The same goes for P. The product is great.
I bought these bushings to replace those that were damaged on my 2003 Tacoma, thinking they would be easy to install. A welded nut (the lower passenger bolt/nut) broke off, and though this is usually easy to replace, it was difficult to replace. In this case, the bolt was free spinning in the hole and this nut was inside the crossmember. To put a new nut on the bolt, I eventually had to cut an access hole below the bolt. You should be careful when you unbolt your steering rack. This does not relate to the product in any way. In the event that your welds on one of the two welded nuts or the welded bolt snap, your installation will be much more challenging.
I noticed a great deal less steering play/rumble on my 2002 Tacoma after installing this. As I pulled out the bushings after 265k miles, I found chewed up pieces of rubber inside. The grease did not come with it, so I got the recommended poly lube and applied liberally. After the first drive on rough stuff, a little squeaking still happened, but after that it seemed to have spread out more and got quiet all over. I just need to fix the tack weld on the steering column.
It is a perfect fit for 1997 Toyota 4Runners. Rubber bushings on the rack were shot and there was a good deal of play in the rack. Now that the poly bushings have been installed, the steering is much tighter and the rack is rock solid. You can find some very helpful install videos on the internet, but I found that cutting one shoulder off the bushing and using an inexpensive C clamp and a socket helped me get rid of Clearly, years ago it would have been a good idea.
After I swapped the bushings, I could tell the difference immediately. It's awesome how quickly the steering response happens! It is highly advisable to switch over to poly.
These bushings provide a perfect upgrade over my stock bushings on my 99' 4Runner. If you need silicone paste or white lithium grease, pick some up at your local drugstore. As these bushings are known to be squeaky, lubing them should solve the problem. The C- is also very large It will be easier for the metal tube to be seated in the bushings with the clamp. In addition to the tie rod bushings, it would be worthwhile for you to replace them while you're.
