To make it easier, using a seal breaker tool and tapping it in with a rubber hammer is the best way to get it into place, and a little grease helps it to stay in place

This is the correct seal for the 1997 Ford F-150 This is a 150, 3 door, 4x4, and it has 4 doors. The output shaft of the transfer case is a 6L automatic. Can you please tell me what part number 2L1Z7B215A is for?

For an '04 Chevy Silverado, I bought this seal and it was correct! I have no idea if this seal would be correct for an '04 Ford! I would check the number for your vehicle, but I doubt that it would match.
