My '00 Jeep Cherokee's slip yoke eliminator kit required an original seal to be replaced. I bought one of these to replace the old one. There was so much leakage from the factory installed seal that everything from the output shaft back could be seen to be dripping in After calling Rugged Ridge, I was sent a new housing with a new seal installed, but that did not fix the leak. There is still a leak in that seal, since I removed it and replaced it with this one. I give Kudos to the customer service, however they have been amazing to work with and have been very helpful. My leak is still there, but it isn't as bad as it used to be. While I'm setting up the front driveline angles, I'll live with this leak until I switch out a National or Timken brand seal when I work on the driveline.
My profession as a mechanic requires me to use the best parts i can find at a fair price. It is very important to me that the bearings and seals I use are very reliable. There are a lot of companies that used to produce quality bearings, but are now selling junk. I will not use bearings made in China. Here, it is another story. Although they have excellent products, they are well made, and I have had the pleasure of using them in the past and will do so again.
Take a look at Exactly how I wanted it to fit my NP231. To press this into the tail housing, be sure to use the right tools as the metal is flimsy and will bend and mar the surface.
Having tried four different brands of seals, this turned out to be the most suitable. There will be no leaks anymore.
I used this to eliminate my slip yoke on my jeep and it worked great.
There was a leak in the The seal has been replaced, but it is still leaking. A new replacement has been made. Once again, the leak has occurred. You can put an AMC 20 pinon seal into it and it will no longer leak.
