My personal experience saved me a lot of money over a factory replacement and protected me from the threats of buying aftermarket parts, where there are more scams than good reviews. While I did not have any experience with power steering pumps before, watching YouTube videos helped explain some of the steps and I was able to complete the job in about three hours. I am fairly mechanically inclined and have worked on cars in the past, but I am I have been running the rebuilt pump daily for well over a month and it is working beautifully! I am riding much quieter, there are no leaks, and I feel so much better steering You will need a vice, large sockets, hex wrenches, and possibly a second set of hands for this job, so I strongly recommend that you refrain from attempting it without the proper tools. As long as you are replacing the main bearing, I also suggest replacing the inner bearing. This is a very small investment that will surely pay off in the end. Regardless of your opinion, if you feel up to the challenge of doing a rebuild, this seal kit will not disappoint! The OEM-like parts are all very high quality and identical to OEM. This is a highly recommended book!.
It is really important to me that this kit works with our 2008 Acura TSX (according to Amazon, the kit will It only takes a few minutes to replace the seals. It involves opening up the pump, matching the correct parts, and closing everything up again. The original seals were much more robust than the replacement parts, and they did not fill up the channels in the way the original parts did. Once I opened the pump (yes, it is an Acura pump), I became concerned. After a successful "rebuild," I torqued the pump back to Acura's specs and sure enough, it immediately started leaking (much more than before). Taking it apart again and reinstalling it, but nothing worked. I checked the seals and made sure they were in place and reseated them, but nothing worked. My attempt to seal the pump housing after trial #2 involved applying some additional torque to the pump housing. I fixed the leak, but now there is too much torque on the unit, causing something internal to rub (it's making a terrible noise). It appears that the kit did not fit our pump properly (it is the original OEM pump, still). I was unable to find any positive reviews about the kit here, so I'm unsure why the kit didn't fit.
Since everything seems to be hit or miss with quality when I buy rebuilt power steering pumps from the local parts store, I have just started It is easy to install the Edelmann kits all in one. To those doing this for the first time, grab something to take photos with and a sharpie to note the location and direction of all the parts you're reusing.
Thank you for the nice item as described.
That's great! My power steering pump will be rebuilt by following a video guide on YouTube. Suitable for those who want to do it themselves You self-sufficient person!.
After changing the shipping date right after I ordered it, it took forever for the parts to arrive. I ended up having to supply the customer with a power steering pump to repair his car. When the kit finally arrived, it looked like a quality kit, but later found out that it could not be verified.
I bought it to rebuild a power steering pump for my Accord. I don't know if the seals were as good as the originals, but it worked.
