It is not possible to use the 8520 Input Shaft Seal Kit with a remanufactured steering gear because it is designed for a 3/4" diameter input shaft, which is the size used by Saginaw steering gears from 1979 forward. It is required to use Edelmann Input Shaft Seal Kit 7095 that comes with a 13/16" OD input shaft and is suitable for 1978
Rock auto part number search does not include this part number. The car I used was an F250 from 1978.
The Edelman 8525 is most likely the one listed by rock auto. Additionally, there are two other brands listed under rock auto
Fitted correctly on a 1978 Ford F 250 which I purchased the kit for. I'm not sure, but the cost difference between Edelman and John Deer may be considerable. Even if you lose a little, you won't lose much. You can be sure that the tractor part quality will be excellent.

The exact thing I was looking for.
