I am not sure, but this works perfectly on my Jeep CJ8. As all of the steering systems in the CJ7 and 8 were the same, I am certain it will work. In every part of my suspension I replaced, I found a rattle and steering problem to be caused by this ring and bushing. It was one of my best purchases. If you do not need it, then you can remove the driver's fender to gain some more space.

If it does, it seems that it would, but I'm not an expert in the matter. Those are all pretty much the same from what I can tell.

It was much easier than I thought it would be to install on my 1983 A steering column end without any slop has been installed. Although I would prefer that the bearing had been able to fit snugly into the plastic piece, once I had the retaining ring and clip installed, it no longer appeared to be an issue. From being able to move the shaft 1/8" back and forth, to nearly no movement, the shaft no longer moves at all. This is worth the time!.
When it came to tightening up the kit, the diameter in the column was smaller. It will be covered with a shield I'm going to make.
It took me a few minutes to remove the whole steering column from the Jeep, because I also had other things to do while I was in there. Weekend mechanics shouldn't have too much trouble with this job.
I was able to get here easily. The new steering shaft I purchased was also installed with it. I took the play out of my Jeep You can view the YouTube video to find out how to install it. You can get lots of useful information from the catalog that came with the item. To equip my Jeep with a turn signal cam, I plan to order one. It seems they are the only ones who have the parts.
Replacing the steering gear and collapsible steering shaft (funny enough, my steering shaft was stuck, so it wouldn't have worked if I got into I am happy with the kit it is easy to make and I am glad I bought it.
It fits perfectly on my 1977 Jeep Specifically, the bearing in this unit was replaced by a recent steering shaft upgrade, and this unit restored the steering column to its original, smooth conditions. If you are refurbishing or restoring the steering on your CJ Jeep, this product would be a good choice.
Now, you may also need other stuff (tie rod ends, gear box, etc), but this is a common point of wear in the steering column because this bearing wears out over time.
I have a 1986 CJ7 with power steering, and it fits perfectly. My steering is tightened up a great deal and the slop has been removed. There seemed to be a lack of grease in it, so I added more As soon as the old parts were taken off, the new parts fitted easily. In my opinion, it's a good choice.
