What are the odds of it fitting ?

is a part for a 2003 Ford Escape (and may also fit other years). The rod is held in place when the hood is down by this bracket. Seven inches is the diameter of the rod. A 7mm thick. It fits in the clip very tightly. You can probably expect your 9mm rod to crack the clip eventually. It slips into the retainer perfectly even though I'm not sure of the size of the hole. A quick search of the web (especially Amazon and Ebay) ought to be able to provide you with the exact part you need. I wish you success.
