I used this for an upgrade from a rag joint steering shaft to a square body. It was not necessary to grind the nylon inserts, just torched them. In the steering department, took up the slack. This truck was an 81 Chevy 3/4 ton with a 3 inch body lift, so it had the right amount of length to work. Quality and value at a great price.
In addition to the NAPA one, I also purchased one from in which I paid more money but was much more stoutly built. If you were looking for value for money, this would have been a good choice.
In order to remove the pressed-on section of the case outer shaft, I had to cut it out. (You will understand it when you see it) I cut just above the second dot. It is then free to slide down the shaft. My overall feeling is that the series clears equally well as the Blackheart series.
The one I received couldn't connect to the K5 and looked different to the picture. I had bought it as an upgrade for my K5. The same applies to Jeeps as well. Because it was attached to a boot and used metal tabs for compression, it was not able to extend to the In addition to the 3 inch body lift, I also have a 6 inch foot lift. This was the shaft that we went with. Look up the OEM Jeep shaft part number on Amazon to see where to buy it. This is my only intention in writing this I hope to help other squarebody enthusiasts.
No problems so far, but the product is not ready for full review yet, but I like it.
Description of the product is accurate.
A few minor adjustments allowed it to fit on a 84 G body cutlass. It is ideal for clearance of headers.
For my 1964 C10, I am using a steering box conversion. That should take a lot of slop out of the steering, especially now that the steering box has a quick ratio.
