Selected User Reviews For Yukon Gear & Axle (YMS5778) Replacement Pinion Seal for Dana 25/27 / 30/36 / 44/50
The seal worked for a year, but after that time it leaked. A couple Yukon seals were available on Amazon that fitted my Jeep when I tried to order a replacement. As I went to the Yukon site to confirm, they had an older TJ, which was 2001+. As you can tell, this is a slightly taller one than the last and it fits well. I don't know whether the height matters but I went with the recommendation of Yukon.
I was able to use this seal on a 1970 International Scout 800A without any problems. Similarly, I replaced the rear Dana 44 pinion seal along with the front Dana 30 pinion The part fits perfectly on my old truck and is of high quality.
My axle was dry and I didn't realize it, so I'm hoping she can give me a few more miles before a rebuild is needed. There is a lot of metal in my oil, which is unusual. The leak started after I filled her up when I bought the truck, then after rolling 600 miles on her, I checked next year and found her almost a quart under I am hurt. We used an impact installation machine since metal in there, so we did not have to worry about crushing bushings. I had a difficult time finding parts for my 77 K20 since I didn't realize that the axles were from a 72 car.
With the right compression, it went straight into my gm d44 axle on my 1977 chevy k10 and sealed perfectly.
There was no such thing as that. To obtain the correct part, I had to take the vin number to the dealership.
Totally different part from what I had planned.
There is no reason I can complain about the seal because it is made of good-quality machined parts. It would have been wise to ask questions first, as it was a misprint on Amazon's part that said it fit either the front or rear of my 95 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. Front axle is a Dana 60 while rear axle is a Dana 80, which is a problem. I couldn't fit it in The next time I make a purchase, I will do more research.
The seal is good.
Even after thousands of miles, the device is still in great condition.
