The pinion seal was worn out on my truck, of course. On a 2006 Dodge 1500 4 x 4, it went on this. The hardest part of the entire job was that I don't have a lift, so I had to stand on my side or on my back the entire time. After you remove the old seal, it's fairly simple to replace it with the new one. The pinion nut that holds the yolk on needs to be removed when doing this. You can tell how far that nut is seated by looking at how far it is Photographs are what I did for myself. In addition, I did a differential cover seal and new all the fluid and I got it as close to what you saw on the picture. In my mind, I figure I might as well do everything if I'm going to do the pinion seal. You should also make marks on your drive shaft and your yoke so that you put everything back the same way it was. Getting the driveshaft bolts off was not hard, however, one of them had the fear of God within it, so I had to throw everything I had into it to remove it. It is important to take your time and get adequate breaks, as your neck will get tired if you hold it for too long. It is much easier to do this job if you have a lift.
After 3 months, there are no leaks. I thought it was a good quality seal, and it fit as it should have. Despite replacing the water heater 3 months ago, we haven't experienced any Excellent. I would recommend it.
Until we bought this Timken seal, we had to replace this seal multiple times. Timken seals are thicker, and they fit better and last longer than those other seals, and I read in a forum that they should be chosen since the rubber is thicker and it lasts longer. In the near future, I'll definitely use this brand again.
It's been a while since I've replaced my ram truck's leaky seal. We are pleased with the result. There will be no leaks anymore.
As far as we know, there are no leaks.
The fit is good and the seal is good. Roughly 25 inches at the rear.
I installed it without any problem.
The product, the one I bought on the 21st of January, is still not here.
