As recommended by the F80 M3 maintenance manual, the back differential fluid needs to be changed every 5 oil changes. For this job, it is absolutely imperative that you use an Original BMW plug. This is a perfect fit.
I am transferring this case to you A differential at the rear of the vehicle. I had no issues with it and it fit perfectly. This book is highly recommended!.

A Dimple Drain Plug would work if I had a single plug in my differential. This drain plug is well made, OE part from BMW. Using one of these with a Dimple would be ideal if you have a strainer and a fill hole in your diff.
The tool worked great for my differential oil change on my 2011 BMW 335i.
