Questions & Answers

Does this cover, gasket, and seal come as a package?

All the components are included and making installation easier since it has the round rear main oil seal in pre-installed form. This is a housing-mounted device. The rear main seal alignment tool you would need to center the housing on the crankshaft is therefore not needed. In light of the fact that the rear main seal is pre-installed After being installed in the housing, the seal will automatically center itself The housing will accommodate the engine block as long as it is moved slowly into position and no bolts are installed until the housing and the engine block meet flush. Install bolts and tighten all bolts by hand until the housing is firmly fixed in place. Once the housing is flush to the engine block, install the bolts. The bolts should not be used to draw the housing into the block, as it might cause the housing to be out of alignment. In misaligned housings, the rear main seal fails to seal around the entire crankshaft, resulting in a leak at its most critical point. In the final step, after the housing is securely hand tightened to the block, you may proceed to torque the bolts in the specific In my 2005 Chevy Avalanche, I was losing about a quart every two days due to an excessive leak. I replaced this part and the leak stopped. Since putting in the housing, there have been no oil leaks.

This looks like it would be a good fit for ?

The part you are looking for will work on

It would be helpful to know more about the fitment 2005 suburban 1500, 5 seats. Is the vin#Z of the engine compatible?

If I had bought it for a 2003 suburban, I would have had the right thing.

I have a 2005 Silverado 4 and need to know if this will fit. What is the engine 8?

I'm sure it will fit, sir!

Buy all the cover kits and do the job once rather than cutting corners
5/5

I got genuine GM replacement part that fit perfectly and helped me repair the rear engine cover leak in a jiffy. A list of the EXPENSIVE specialty tools that GM has for assembling the front and rear covers, and oil pan of the LS style engine is available. I have never used these tools and have not had any problems with them. In any case, the OE tools wouldn't work when the main seal is already installed. Furthermore, the rear main seal has the advantage of being able to center itself over the rear crank snout, unlike the front cover, which is designed to seal against the damper pulley and It is the OE method to install the rear cover without the seal, then install the seal, so the cover's location must be evaluated before the seal is installed. In an earlier revision, bolt heads were resized to 13mm. Original bolts had 10mm heads. The installation process Applied a small amount of RTV to the left and right sides of the joint between the oil pan gasket and the rear of the block in the same way. Since the bolts are retained by the covers' seals, I positioned the cover while the seal protector is still on. In my effort to begin the cover bolts, I started them all at the same time and allowed the cover to rest loosely on the crank snout, pushing the seal protector from the inside. As soon as the oil pan bolts were finger snug against the back of the engine, I installed the two long oil pan bolts and torqued them to 106 in-lbs. About 1 lb. After that, it is torqued to 18 ft lbs per bolt. Having done that, I tightened the bolts with a socket and then loosened the long oil pan bolts in order to make sure the cover was pulled securely Finally, I retorqued the oil pan bolts as well as the rear cover bolts in a.

I purchased this for my 2007 GMC Tahoe LT Flex Fuel V6 and it fits perfectly
5/5

I am very happy with this purchase. There are three Litre trucks. In addition to this seal, I opted to replace the oil pan gasket, pick up tube oil seal, oil pan gasket gasket, as well as a bunch of other seals (oil pan, pick up tube) because the truck has more than 170k miles on it. This includes jewelry such as rings, etc. The physical work was handled by my buddy's shop, but when I looked at the prices elsewhere and compared them to Amazon, Amazon had the best price most everywhere. The DIYer in me would be tempted to do this all myself and save money on labor. But this is time intensive and for me, I'm a DIY enthusiast, but I couldn't sit through it. We wish you good luck and hope this will fix any leaks in the connecting channels between you and your block. It has a completely updated design that keeps everything you need for the 1 for 1 installation. There have been no further problems with the block for almost 1000 miles since this was installed.

A new part for this system should be easy to replace
5/5

This may have been the cause of a leaky rear main seal. Thanks to this, I was able to fix the oil leak on my In case there is an oil leak coming from between your engine and transmission, this part would be highly recommended. (Make sure it is not coming from above your transmission going through. ) It would be great if you could R&D If this part is worn out in your transmission, you should be able to replace it easily. The leak on my rear main seal was a result of a failed gasket on the rear cover, instead of the rear seal. It took me some time to figure out the correct answer to the problem relating to the white seal protector. I had a reverse seal on the original seal for my SUV. A guide was used to hold the seal during installation in place by pointing the inner lip inward and the outer lip outward. This was an important tool for installing the seal properly. This part now comes with an updated seal lip that points outward, and the guide is no longer necessary. It was the first part I received and it did not have the protector in place, and it had a number of small folds in the seal. When I contacted IMGMPARTS, they sent me a second part (after a week delay, more on that below). As for the replacement part, the protector was also not in place, but the seal was fine. I simply pushed the protector into it from within.

The leak in my oil was completely fixed as a result
5/5

The product is excellent, and the design is updated. My rear main leak in the 2001 Silverado 5 was fixed with this part. There have been three 4x4 vehicles that gradually deteriorated over the past six The problem was such that I would no longer go on long trips since I was afraid of wasting I had no problem installing the program. You will have to put in a lot of work if you want to remove your transfer case and transmission. In theory, you can do it over a full day, but if you have help, you'll probably need two days. It has been almost a month now and still no leaks.

The 2005 Chevy Avalanche comes with five (5) wheels
5/5

This is a 3L Flex Fuel Engine for a 2005 Chevy Avalanche with a 5. 8L V8. A proper seal installation is not required with a 3L Flex Fuel engine because the housing does not require a special tool for centering the crankshaft. In order to install, apply some light oil to the crankshaft and push the housing over the seal carefully. Ensure the seals are properly seated on the crankshaft by turning and repositioning the seals into place. You should align the bolt holes with the holes in the housing and finger tighten in small increments to mate the housing with The lack of an alignment tool means that you do not want to force the housing to be turned Left, Right, Up, or Down, which would cause the oil seal gasket to be distorted and not You can naturally center the housing by drawing it to the block evenly as long as you do so slowly. To tighten, follow the manufacturer's torque and tightening pattern recommendations once the housing has been all the way to the block.

Then you should buy GMS sealer from GM along GM quality at its best
5/5

It was very easy to get on. A complete set of components. Use the genuine GM sealer with this installation, but be sure to use the genuine GM sealer. Oil pans do not need to be dropped. The GMS-10 program should be used Please use a sealer that was made in 2010.

The quality of the product you receive is dependent on your budget
5/5

The price is cheaper for this product, but I have replaced a bunch of these gaskets as a mechanic and I recommend the original brand. It is worth it to spend a little more money purchasing original gaskets and having this job done I just thought of that.
