The material used in this seal has improved since the original design by Ac Delco. AC Delco has done a great job. During the installation of this seal on a 4L80E in a 4WD setup, it was faced with a little pressure. A place has been established for it. From a PVC coupler, I made a seal tool. To shave the pipe side, I shaved it to 0 degrees. A die grinder can finish this with 120 grit and 3/4" (depth). The drive shaft was able to slip over the sleeve. To punch the pipe, I used a piece of 4" PVC pipe. In addition to going it like a rabbit into a burrow, the seal also built a burrow of its own. Using the snap ring set in easy, no deflection of the seal and no squeaks.
