The Snow King is a 5-hp motor. Purchasing this gear and a kit from the same company, I thought I'd have an extra in case of problems. Although the listing says it fits the 37000 starter, I noticed the length was a bit shorter than the original. It was difficult to get it apart (without the $80 specialty tool) and I was unable to engage the gear with the flywheel after getting it installed. Afterward, I took it apart again to remove the gear and install it along with all the new parts that came with the kit. I still couldn't get it to The third time I took it apart, I tried to shim it with a washer that had the same thickness as the difference, but it did not It occurred to me to reach out to the seller to see if they had a more creative The response told me to return it right away. Seeing as it's almost 2 weeks past the return date, there is no way to do that and my money is wasted. After getting a new starter elsewhere after being unable to trust that the one I get will fit my machine if I buy it from this company.
fits not on the end of that pinion and the screw cannot be tightened Due to the lip being smaller, you will have to JB weld it on. In the beginning, I bought a new starter since it was easier to get and faster to install I later bought this to replace my broken OEM pinion since my original starter was in good working order. Due to it being 1/8" shorter, I hope it engages with the flywheel properly, or it would be.
Most engines with a Tecumseh 8 through 10 hp starter can use this gear. (unlike some original gears) The bevel is properly positioned to prevent premature failure. There is a little bit of a gap between the cover and the camera because of the clip, but it stays in place fairly securely once it is mounted. Be sure to purchase a gear that is beveled in both directions, meaning that the outside of each tooth is beveled downward, so that the flywheel can engage properly without damaging the gear.
Tecumseh 37000 is compatible with this product. I find that it starts my snowblower just fine, but it is smaller than original by about 1/4".
Unlike OEM items, this item does not come with a warranty. It is not designed to hold the dust cap in place like the OEM one.
I found it to be perfect. The program worked as expected.
I just added a bit of silicone. The rubber cap didn't fit properly so I added some silicone to it. It appears to be working ok.
I like it very much.
