Other tools you'll see use the inner screw to expand the tool once inside the bearing so you can pull it out, but this is supposed to be used for removing a blind bearing. This one only uses its own tension, which isn't tight enough, causing the tines to flex excessively. Thankfully, I had another Buffalo Engine Components tool kit on hand, which worked perfectly. This one was returned, so don't waste your time and money on it.
