Can you give me an example or type of battery to use ?

My marine battery lasts for about a week

Do I expect to see flickers or damage to LEDs if I use this output to run led ?

You won't see a flicker, but your LED lights might get damaged if your LEDs are not expecting this. An LED burns up instantly if it is raw. For example, if your string is expecting 12 characters You might be able to get by with 14 Volts, but unless you have a LOT of LEDs, it might be out of reach.

This would be a good sump pump for a basement?

It is probably possible to do so, but it is not protected from intrusion from water.

This is ideal for amateur radio operators

The battery can be charged either by a battery or by a power supply. I have no problem integrating my solar panel with this product. If you turn off the power supply, you can still run your radio from the battery.
