Thanks Brian, I measured my battery roughly using a cheap tape, but below is what I found. In my measurements, I found the plastic casing to be approximately 22 cm high. It's approx. 7 1/4 inches long by 10 inches wide and 3 1/2 inches wide, but from the bottom of the case to the top of the post it's about 7.5 inches. There are 8 1/8 inches in this measure. It is odd that this battery lies flat on its side in a battery tray with the posts pointing toward the engine in my 40 Ford. I could stack two batteries on their side of the tray if I had the right cables. I like this battery. It's a little small for a standard tray, but has a decent amount of power and holds its charge very well when, just sitting in the garage for I hope this was helpful in some way. I am Wayne

An angle will be needed for the battery to fit into the battery box. Due to its length and narrowness, it can be angled in the box and positioned with ease, so you have better support for the hold-up. Located at the opposite corners and you will be ok. I had my Optima in my Chevy for 6 years.

When it was hooked up to my Farmall H, I could start and run it like a beast, and I had every intention of buying an Optima battery for every 6V tractor in my collection. After a couple of calls to Optima customer support, I learned of their daisy-chaining trick My first attempt at bringing it up to life was using a 6V battery chain. After this failed, I got through to a person on my third call and I was told to get a print-out of the fuses out of an auto parts store. In spite of verifying the battery had failed, they were not able to issue the tickets because the voltage of the battery was too low for their machine to allow the test. Considering I had to pay almost twice as much for the battery, and it came with a three year warranty, I thought it was a superior product, but in reality it wasn't as long lasting as generic batteries, and the hassle to get a replacement wasn't I feel that this is probably one of my least satisfied purchases. It can no longer be charged every other day anymore because my 6v one I bought just three years ago has reached the end of its useful life.
