Amazon should be regarded with caution when buying batteries. The blue top on my boat died within 16 months even though I connected it to a battery maintainer the entire time. Optima does not consider Amazon as an authorized dealer, so one needs to check with a local Optima dealer to see if it will honor my Fortunately, I was able to find a replacement battery at a local dealer and it has been working well for three years. I just wanted to let you know.
The yellow top is the best for deep-cycling because it has long life. Due to its cranking amps, red top oak is more suited for race cars, while blue top oak is more suited to marine applications

Batteries from Optima do not meet my recommendation any longer. In the process, the battery manufacturer lowered the quality and raised the price, meaning the battery is no longer as durable as other, cheaper It is projected that they would last between 12 and 14 years in 2008. A pair of these lasted about 2 years and cost $267 by 2014. On my boat, my 2008 Optimas are still in perfect condition.

I received an old one instead which is two years old. A load test was done on this battery as soon as it arrived from the shipping box. I ran the analysis on my load tester, which shows only 98 CCA available despite the machine being rated at 800 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps). The battery was connected to the charger, and the battery was let to fully recharge on the charger for a few hours just for troubleshooting purposes. A full recharge demonstrated that it had been fully recharged, so we ran the They all produced the same exact results. It has a CCA of 98. "REPLACE BATTERY" is definitely the best course of action. HOW is that a brand new battery would fail such a test? As a matter of fact, I'd been using an older version of the same exact Optima Blue Top battery that I had purchased in July 2017 (which had worked fine until just two weeks ago when it suddenly died and wouldn't hold It was really good customer service from Amazon once again in sending me a replacement since the old battery was still within the 24 month warranty. I can't say enough good things about Amazon's customer service department, but the fact that the new battery was completely dead on arrival really stumped me. I didn't notice the bar code numbering on the old battery and the new one that just arrived until I began comparing them. As it turns out, they have exactly the same bar codes. This is notable for what reason? Due to their bar code numbers, battery barcodes will tell you what year it was manufactured. As you can see, both were manufactured by 2017 in this instance. Since the battery I originally purchased in 2017 was an OLD battery, it makes complete sense. I would fully expect to receive a battery whose manufacturing date is as recent as possible if I purchased a new replacement battery in 2019. One that's over two years old isn't welcome. So it must have been dead when it arrived. Several years have passed since this item sat in a warehouse on a shelf. The shelf life of 12 Volt batteries is a set amount of time and shipping old ones to customers isn't a good idea. As a rule, Optima batteries are good, so perhaps this is just a glitch in their software. Regardless of the situation, be sure to learn how to find the manufacturing date of an expensive 12 volt battery like this before you buy it so that you don't get duped.

You won't regret it. You can get these for a great price, Just do your research and find the one which is right for you. You shouldn't buy a cranking battery and then be disappointed if you need a deep cycle battery.
I paid a lot for this battery, but it only lasted two years. Due to the fact that I discovered it was defective after 26 months, I was unable to obtain an extended warranty. Intermittent power delivery within circuit seems to be the result of an internal problem. I'm either going to get a useless expensive battery or I won't get one at all. The AGM should be replaced with a new one.
The only problem was they were set to a different timer. Bought two of these 4 years ago, and they're still good! In the past, other batteries needed replacing every two years. Since I bought a used bass boat, I got 2 of these I'm only worried about the fish now! What a great set of batteries!.
On our boat, one of them does the job of starting the engine while the other does it for the house. Within my 12 years of boating, I replaced one at the age of 6 and the second at the age of 12. After a couple of years of service, neither failed. But their electrical characteristics changed and their capacity decreased. Throughout my driving career, I never had a failure to start or a situation where I had to switch to the manual parallel to restart.
My RV uses two of them and they have lasted through all the power requirements that I have. Having a smaller size and being more compact than regular batteries is a boon. The next time I purchase, I will do so again.
