Yes. The load leg is completely cut off with this switch. If you're having draw issues or seeing power at one or both switch poles, I'd disconnect both switch legs and check both cables for power. It's possible that you're gaining power back if your vehicle/equipment has multiple features. fed from a different power source than the load/equipment/vehicle
On a fleet of mixer trucks, I currently have about a half-dozen of these installed as master battery disconnects. We're using three group 31 batteries in them, and while cranking, we're seeing over 1500cca (for a few seconds), and they've performed almost flawlessly. We have only had one failure with our 160 amp alternators so far. It is rated for 250 amps continuous and 2500 amps for 5 seconds, according to the Flaming River website. I've tried a few others and these are the best I've come across so far. I hope this information is useful, and best of luck.
Yes, it will remain locked in place. It's also very effective. Sandman

It was required for the installation of a piece of equipment by a member of the family. He claimed that it was simple to set up and that it prevented the battery from draining.
It's a simple choice between buying it from the dealer and saving half the money by purchasing it from Amazon.
On my Volvo 780, it works perfectly as a cutout switch. Reduced the risk of theft and parasite drain on the battery.
If you're looking for a high-quality battery disconnect, this is the one to get. It's something I'd buy again if the opportunity arose.
It was a resellable item.
Thanks to Sandman, I installed it on my Peterbuilt road tractor trailer and it works great.
