Questions & Answers
Do not attempt to connect a ground to this power switch; it is an on/off power switch.
It is not rated for it.
I had to return this because the description is incorrect; I was looking for a dual battery switch, but this one only works as a batt1, batt2, or both on and off switch; it only works as a single battery, on or off switch. If this is something you want to do, I recommend looking into Blue Sea systems. No, the ground wire isn't connected to the circuit.

I used this as a mechanical battery isolator on an old Pick-Up truck. Up and running with a backup battery and a winch. I ran 2ga wire to and from this, and it was a struggle to get it all hooked up, mostly due to a lack of hands on my hands. It's been working perfectly as an isolator/battery backup system since I set it up. I wanted something that was simple to turn on and off. The switch is located on the inside and engages with a positive switch click. Because it is mounted inside, I am unable to comment on its weather resistance.
It's straightforward, but it appears to be well-designed. It's well-made, sturdy, and has a pleasant smooth action. Because the connection lugs are quite large, expect to use a lot of thick wire. It was created with heavy-duty cable in mind. Because my application didn't necessitate quite that much current, I had to do some soldering to get a proper connector on the wire I was using (6mm2). Even so, it's very effective, and it looks and functions well.
At first, it was difficult for me to determine whether or not it worked. On off setting, I got a current reading as long as my finger was touching the test probe. What a mess! However, when I took my finger off the terminal, no current was read on the OFF setting. It appears to be well constructed, and I've only recently installed it.
Because of the thickness of the fiberglass, the bolts were about an inch too short to fit in the battery compartment. It would be fine if it were made of metal. Because of the design of the unit, finding different bolts and nuts was difficult. I am dissatisfied.
Allow plenty of time for installation. On the design, I have a suggestion. I'd rework it so that two wrenches can be used to tighten the two nuts against the battery cable lug, ensuring that you don't over-tighten them. Ensure that the top nut is securely fastened.
This is simply an on/off switch, not a 1,2,both,off switch as stated in the description. It can even say 1,2,both and off on the box, which is very frustrating!.
This device is extremely simple to integrate into your circuit. The extra cash is unquestionably worthwhile. I've bought two so far for the circuits I have and plan to buy more in the future.
The terminals had to be cut down. There is insufficient space for terminals with the specified capacity.
