There are a few more than 7 1/2 inches in length to the cable. It was a long cable. I hope it worked.

Now that the cable is on the car, it's ready to go. unfortunately do not recall the length, but there was a field above the image where you could enter the make and model of your vehicle to see whether it would It was the negative cable that I needed. It is a happy tractor that has a good ground! In my 1948 Ford 8N ugly tractor, which I converted to 12V negative ground (originating from 6V positive ground), this worked great

In addition to the original cable, I installed a 6-foot cable Eight years ago, a point where the battery clamp was attached to the ground cable was smoking. It cranks over just fine even when it won't start after I installed new ground bolts and washers on the frame side, along with a new positive cable and starter, as well as some other wires.
