part had an 8mm nut and a post that matched up with the 10mm nut on my truck, and the two parts fitted identically. Once, after installing a new battery, I had purchased a generic battery terminal connector from my local auto parts store. . . and the cables would not fit on the SAE post. With this item, the cables fit well and are of good quality. Make sure that you clean up before you start Prior to installing new cables, brush the existing ones with a wire brush. When I first installed the product, the starter motor cable was so badly corroded that it was impossible for the truck to start even though the windows and lights would work. A quick clean with some automotive cleaner and a wire brush resolved the issue, and the truck started immediately after that. Some users of this product have said it does not make good contact may not have cleaned the rest of the pre-treatment The equipment that is currently in use. My guess is that this part is made out of aluminum, it looks suspiciously like it from a distance. I was hoping it would be copper like the original OEM part, but I'm satisfied with the outcome overall.

It is solid. I barely tightened the black plastic piece on the bottom of the battery as soon as I put it on and it broke off just as soon as I did. It works well and makes good contact with the terminal apart from that. I would buy this again if I needed it.
