It is what they call a lug end. It slides over a positive connection on either a starter or alternator and does not seem to have a specific size.
Battery cables for older top post batteries are available here. As long as your car is a top post and the length is sufficient, you should be able to do so,

There are no visible faults in this product. It's well made with a secure connection of the terminal ends and a good quality battery post clamp and lug on the other end. There is something nice about the way the copper strands extend all the way through the ring lug at the other end from the battery, to around the place where the stud passes I think the conductor wires are extending all the way through the copper ring that forms the terminal ring for the switch. To prevent oxidation and strain on the wire, the ring lug is crimped onto the wire insulation. I would like you to know this one thing There is a "made in USA" label on the item.
I like this battery cable a lot for the price, but I wouldn't consider it as a It is considered to be adequate to use copper wire, but the connectors are made of lead and may be cheap. There are several metal connectors in the battery that have a very soft core and will loosen as the battery is loaded heavy and heat builds Although it got me out of a jam, I would rather replace it with a more durable one.
Although I suppose it would be cheaper to stock one color, I guess I'm old school and believe that red and black are the positive and negative wires, respectively. The cable I have attached to my 58 Ford is black and the cables are black. Surely what was once new is once again new?.
When I added an emergency battery switch, I had to add these cables (actually two). The original beaten up cables needed to be replaced so we decided to start with clean, perfect Positive cables to avoid any chance of poor connections. I had no problems with this!.
The solution worked really well. The quality of the product is excellent. This is what I used on my stand-by power supply.
