Although it may increase the charge cycle time a short amount due to the increased resistance on the circuit as a result of the additional length. Using an extension cord is another way to extend the AC
The extension cable and the USB 40 were returned along with the extension cable. This is due to their customer service representative. Answered my questions but was unable to provide a satisfactory answer. The charger is located in my car and I'm using it to extend my charger from my wall to my car, but I noticed that there is not enough current being sent through the wire, and my G7200 was constantly resetting and taking an extra long time to charge. By using my Klien Tools amp meter, I was able to monitor the current and find out that the battery was only charging at 5 amps instead of 7 amps! I used OFC 14AWG speaker wires to extend the cable instead of the thin Noco wire. After crimping up the connectors to some true-size wires, I have no problems charging the battery to full and the G7200 no longer resets or charges slower.
It has been a few years since I drove my 2011 Mazda3 and because of this, the battery and electrical system are suffering. I've purchased the car brand new and replaced the battery three times since I've had it because I make short trips so often. My NOCO Genius 1 has not only saved me from having to replace my battery a fourth time, but has also restored the battery and the electrical system in the car as well. The problem is that I had to park extremely close to the work bench I hooked up the Genius 1 to, and the cord barely reached the car's battery terminals, so it basically roped off the side of my car as I plugged it in. My next step was to purchase an attachment connector that would allow me to plug in the charger without popping the hood and affixing clamps, and I quickly realized I needed an extension cord. I initially purchased a six foot cord thinking the ten foot cord would be more than enough. My new setup with the "No hood raising" has made me realize that 10 feet is a good distance for my current setup. It rarely happens that the side of my car gets roped off, and if something grabs the cord on the ground, like my motorcycle tire or someone's foot, there's so much slack that tugging on it won't cause anything to come undone. You may not need a connector attached to your car battery, however if you have a NOCO Genius and want to use it on a car battery that's still in the vehicle, I suggest you get one of these extension cords, whichever size you deem appropriate.
I have updated As far as I can tell, this does not work with the GB40 and I don't know why Amazon packages it up this way. Recently I had to use the unit and had to add an extension, so I took the extension out and then I didn't know what I was doing. There is a difference between their plugs, so no it does not even connect. I wasted my money on this, and now I have a useless However, it deserves a good rating for the unit itself but not the extension, too bad we couldn't figure out if it was Amazon or NOCO who attempted to sell it along with The wires on this cable were thin and I just wish they were a little thicker. I bought this along with my GB40, haven't used it yet, but had to wish for thicker wires. If you have to travel further, this is a great addition.
Not only does it offer the correct connections for the NOCO charger, but it also has a sturdy construction. As opposed to some extensions that use thin cheap cables, the cables used by this extension are thick and sturdy. You need to use a gauge of 0. 6mm when extending a charging cable. Last but not least, the connections are strong.
Model GB40 of the Genius BOOST+ was recommended for this. The wires on these cables are much thinner than those found on jumper cables, so they are unusable with this device.
This 10' extension cable and several connectors for various items are all I spent money on. The only male connectors they make are these extension cables. I had to purchase these because they do not make any male connectors. The male connectors do not fit the female connectors after I cut them off to use in my system. A very disappointing experience. While the charger appears to work great and the connectors are nice looking, they do not To no avail, I tried to dremel the edges a bit to see if that would fix the problem. The corners are pretty much rounded off, but it is still too big. This must be due to the diameter inside, and I am unable to change that, so now I am out $25 just for two extension wires. If I had to choose, I would choose.
The cons are *Provided by 1. It is impossible to use cable with charger because the connectors on the cable do not fit the connectors on the ** 2. You might be able to use it with some kind of wand, but please realize that the wires on the cable are twice the width of the wires on the charger, and this poses a big safety issue, especially with the high amp electrical currents the charger uses. As an Amazon customer, I think they should review their 'Frequently bought together' recommendations and add the compatibility verification mark.
The BatteryTender products I used until recently were reliable, but I went through 3 of them in the last 4 years. Something must have gone wrong with the production/assembly of the products. In my quest to find a new product, AAA came to give me a jumpstart using NOCO's product. The service rep swore by it and told me it has been working like a charm. It is easier to use when you have multiple cars set up with all the attachments.
