Plug comes with a plastic cap that looks like a part of it. I cannot remove it because there are no instructions. In my car, it became stuck in a socket when I removed it, and I had to pull it out with the socket attached. To fix it, I had to spend $200. I wouldn't buy because my mechanic says it doesn't work as long as the car draws power to the socket even when the engine is Every time you used this, your battery would drain! The company refused to pay for the damage.

Having inline fuses on the cigarette lighter cable, it is well made. It connects a solar panel to my van - a noco product I have several of - so I needed it. Because I do not drive the van often and the cigarette lighters are not disabled, the battery has been drained at a rapid rate. I prefer red plugs, but there is one issue here - it has a red LED inside. This creates two issues 1) if the solar panel doesn't produce a lot (bad aiming, shade, winter, etc. ), then the light only counts as a net draw the net draw creates energy waste. 1) If the cigarette lighter is backed out of the socket, the solar panel will still maintain power for the red light (and the solar MPPT controller will indicate that it has a working circuit drawing power), so it is difficult to tell from a glance if the circuit works It turned out that during installation, one of my cigarette lighters had blown a fuse, and so while everything was plugged in and had lights, it was not part of my van's wiring system.

turned out, the plug fit a female lighter socket of the standard size. I took the advice of some other reviewers who expressed concern about the red extension coming off inside the male socket and used a few drops of super glue to permanently bond the black and red parts of the connector. The unintentional disconnect issue has been a little explored and I can see how if you don't ensure some sort of twist lock is in place between the two, it could be problematic. As far as I can tell, it wouldn't be that challenging to remove the red tip from the socket if that happened. With a bit of caution on the end of the user, this seems to be a very well designed part that should work as intended if the two parts are needed to be removed.

The products they produce are of high quality and truly work. I am not a fan of this adapter because it requires your car to keep the lighter adapter outlet on when your vehicle isn't running. I have a Lexus and a Mercedes that disable the outlets on their electrical outlets when they are As a result, the adapter is of no use. In our Porsche we keep an outlet with a power adapter for general gear, but this is only for the Porsche-specific outlets I would say that the investment is not worth it. As most vehicles are not set up for this, you might pick up a trickle charger that connects to the battery.

Unlike the Noco charger unit, this accessory is available as an optional item. It is designed specifically to fit the Noco10 Charging Unit. After returning other charging units which included this piece at no additional cost, I purchased the Noco10 Charging Unit. The charger is the highest quality one I could locate for the price, so it is not a big deal to me to have to pay a little bit more.

It works great to charge it from the 12V accessory plug. The alligator clips are difficult to use when you have to access one of my battery's terminals. That problem has been solved with this product. It is true that a small voltage loss will occur compared with clipping directly to the battery, but it is minimal. An illuminated red light indicates that power is available at the 12V accessory male plug, thus saying that a good connection has been made and that the battery has been connected. This 12V male accessory plug is a bit on the small side, and it's not so locked in with my Marinco 12V female accessory plug, but it still works fine. An ATC fuse of 10A is included in the built-in fuse holder I've installed it. Overall, I would buy another item from this company. I can easily charge my phone with this app.
