For any wire, 1 gauge is more efficient than 2 gauge; a lower number for a wire gauge indicates a larger or thicker wire; the size of these jumper cable wires is 1 gauge, and they are copper clad aluminum jumper cables. They'd be similar to 3 gauge pure copper jumper cables in terms of size. Pure copper wire size 1 gauge translates to 00 gauge copper clad aluminum to do the same job and be basically equal to a 1 gauge pure copper jumper cable, so these 1 gauge copper clad aluminum jumper cables will work fine. Aluminum is fine, and while it is lighter and less expensive than copper, it will perform admirably and without fuss. You can look up metals that transfer electrons more efficiently on the internet, but copper is the most common, silver is better but tarnishes and is more expensive, and aluminum is next in terms of efficiency. These cables are top-notch.
There's no reason these wouldn't work on a 2002 blazer, in my opinion. All cables are the same. Some are thicker gauge wire, while others are longer; however, they are all just wire with clamps on the ends.
I haven't worn them yet, so they're still in the bag. It appears to be of sufficient weight to be used repeatedly.
The low battery is charged by connecting to the negative terminal. A shorted or bad battery is eliminated by connecting to the engine block.

I'm happy with the 20-percentage point increase. EPAUTO manufactures a 4-gauge jumper cable set in China. The cable is made of copper-coated aluminum, or "CCA. " The aluminum core in the fine wires that make up the cable had to be seen under a microscope. I used an Agilent 34401A 6 to measure the resistance. Bench multimeter with five digits in a four-digit format. to be around 0 in the wire resistance mode. 4 ohm per 1000 feet, which is suitable for 4 copper-coated aluminum sheets. This is the same as 6 ounces of copper. I was hoping that this cable was 100% copper, but it wasn't advertised that way. Any jumper cable in this price class is unlikely to 100% be 100% copper. The cable storage bag provided is insufficient. Unlike others, I paid full price for this item and did not receive any kind of discount in exchange for my review. Reviews that have been compensated have been swayed.
They are not "all copper" wire and have strong clamps with good teeth. br>When compared to other 4, this one has a smaller gauge. I crimped some 4 AWG connectors for cable quick connects, and the wire left plenty of room inside. br>The description says "all copper," but that is incorrect; it is plated copper wire. br>The insulation is thick and appears to be of high quality. br>I'm a fan of the clamps - They're sturdy, with good teeth on both sides of the clamp and an extended clamp for the battery terminal on one side. br>br>Excellent clamps, cost-effective wire, and adequate insulation. I would have preferred to buy genuine "all copper" wire, but for the time being, this will suffice. br>br>Pictures of a true 4 AWG wire vs. a black/red wire - from the left to the right Take note of the color - it's a nice touch. The true copper (right side) is copper all the way through, but the black/red ends are silver. I'm not sure who the conductor is in this case.
This is fantastic. I purchased two sets, one for each of my vehicles. I chose 4 gauge because I knew that the lower the gauge, the heavier the wire, and I wanted strong cables, but I must admit that I probably went overboard with not only the gauge but also the length. The package (the cables in their round plastic bag, rolled up) is quite heavy and takes up a lot of space; If you have a large car and trunk (or space under the seat), this isn't an issue, but one of these sets is for a Miata with a trunk that can barely hold a couple bags of groceries, so I'm trading one of these pairs for a shorter, lighter gauge pair. The gauge or length of the cables are neither a flaw nor a limitation; they provide a wide range of possibilities. However, consider the gauge (12 is probably the most common) as well as the length (12-inch is probably the most common). It's possible that 16' would be a better fit). You want your cables to be long enough to reach from one car's battery to the other's battery, even if the batteries are on opposite sides, but not so long that they take up too much storage space.
I bought them for commercial use and discovered that they weren't copper, but aluminum painted to look like copper, and the clamps were steel coated copper. They worked, but not on heavy trucks or equipment; more for cars and light trucks if diesel didn't have enough power to jump.
I use these a lot because I don't drive every day and we have three cars, one of which has an intermittent grounding/drain issue and the other of which is only driven occasionally for other reasons. I do have a charger, which I enjoy using, but it's one of those smart chargers, and if the battery is truly dead, it won't charge. It will not charge in any way - It appears that it requires a small amount of voltage. These cables were described accurately in my opinion - They're copper-covered aluminum, which isn't ideal, but it'll suffice for now. I do have a ridiculously heavy and expensive set of very long, solid copper cables from a local utility service truck that I've never had to use in place of these, which makes me happy because I've seen other people with terrible cables where mine would work and theirs wouldn't. I also appreciate the fact that the clamps have small extensions for use with side terminal batteries. The cables even came with a pair of gloves and an instruction tag that was attached to the cables themselves - Even the most inexperienced user should be able to use them safely. br>br>I've heard complaints about how small the bag is. Only in part is this correct. Consider everything that has a cable or cord stowed in it, including your vacuum, floor vac, speakers, and portable jump kit. anything at all - They're all made to have the cables folded/wrapped in the smallest possible way to fit into their stowaway compartments or bags - These aren't any different. They will fit into the bag - You must become accustomed to folding them in a specific manner. This is also true of two other sets of jumper cables I bought, including the more expensive solid copper ones designed for industrial trucks and packaged in an industrial-grade storage bag - What do you think? Also, it's a tight fit - They must be rolled in a specific manner. As a result, this is unavoidable. br>br>I got these on sale; they're a little more expensive now, but even if they're $20, they're still a good deal. This is a fantastic offer. It's a waste of money and space to get shorter or thinner cables. These aren't too big to store in the trunk unless you have a motorcycle or a BMW Isetta, and they're only $20. If you only use these once, you'll save a lot of money. They have more than paid for themselves. Even if you don't use them, the peace of mind is worth it. Even though I have roadside assistance, having a set in each car and not having to wait 45 minutes is far more convenient. The tow truck will arrive in 60 minutes.
