Selected User Reviews For CARTMAN Heavy Duty Booster Cables 1AWG 800A, Jump Cable 1Gauge 25 Feet

Definitely a step in the right direction As a matter of fact, these cables are much better than what you'll typically find at auto parts stores
5/5

This is the set I purchased to keep with Typical smaller gauge cables would not be able to boost the batteries in these types of vehicles, so thicker gauge cables are a necessity. I have noticed that some reviews complain about the cables being copper clad aluminum, as opposed to solid copper. I would call that a case of a little knowledge, but not enough. There are no steel cables running from the utility pole to your home - they are all aluminum. This is not copper and it even isn't An aluminum alloy with a clad surface. There is simply nothing more useful than these boosters when it comes to boosting just about any type of vehicle battery encountered. As the name suggests, these cables are "heavy duty" in the sense that they have a larger gauge than the more commonly available and smaller 6 or 8 gauge cables found at Generally speaking, the lower the number, the larger the gauge and thicker the wire. The gauge of 4 is thicker than the gauge of 8). This clamp is well-built, the clamps are versatile, well insulated, and more than heavy enough for most situations. They have been put to use once so far over the winter. I don't think it is terribly cold- To jump a Jeep, they needed to be in their 20's (F), and they handled themselves and worked It is very useful to have additional length, especially for a big vehicle such as mine, so that one does not have to worry about positioning the vehicles in the right place. Each set included a pair of gloves and a small wire brush for cleaning the Those are not essential, but they are nice to have. Carrying bags are adequate to carry a few tee-shirts and a few ties The Times Keeping the cables correctly stored and not using them to tie things up could provide years of use, and the cables should last a long time. When a cargo is rolled up or down in haste, it may collapse A trunk full of clothes tangled up and thrown away. When you perform recovery service regularly, you'll need a carrying case that can handle the strain. Please also consider the following This is not how they are meant to be used - Due to the lack of perforations on the jacket, the conductors are likely to be exposed if the jacket tears. One reviewer cut them up and complained the conductors came in contact with the metal. Separate cables can be easily found and purchased in that way if you want them. I'm not familiar with why someone would alter a product that had already failed, then ding it for it. There may be merit in some of the negative reviews, but I wouldn't pay attention to those that are overly dramatic or complaining about the copper. Conductors that are clad versus those that are pure. The precise electronics industry relies on every watt and milliamp and the need for extreme efficiency to overcome those differences. For a battery to be boosted, it must receive sufficient voltage and current for a relatively short period of time. Since I have spent ten years in electrical trades, I am now doing design work, which involves calculating current, voltage drop, and amplification. Based on my own experience and opinion, I think these are a good buy overall for what they're designed to do. IMPORTANT NOTE There are no ties between me and the seller of this item, which I purchased on Amazon for full price. To help my readers make informed purchases, I write helpful, unbiased, and informed reviews, since I also read reviews prior to making a purchase. In my observation, many reviews do not have helpful information, do not have a good writing style, or give poor reviews because they did not read the directions, were not experienced, or did not read the product details before Paying it forward is easier when you write a review that is valuable.

EACH OF THEM WAS SHORTED AT THE SAME TIME
3/5

These were stored in my car for less than a year after I bought them. It was a hard lesson to learn after I used them for the first time the cables were shorted along half of the length and melted/welded together after connecting to the.

Cables of good quality
5/5

Where I am from, jumper cables are a NECESSITY in every vehicle. After many uses of cheap, short jumper cables which didn't reach, had low conductivity, and would fall apart after a few uses, I decided to make my own. I like them since they are very long, longer than my Subaru, which is awesome because Murphy's law says that a vehicle that has a dead battery will be located in the WORST position or location to try to jump start it There is nothing to worry about. If you park behind the dead vehicle, you still have the chance to jump over A great conductivity is the result of these. At most it will take a minute or two to conduct enough power to make a leap. There is a great deal of weight to these. It doesn't look like they'll be falling apart in the near future. This is a great set of.

I'm impressed with the way it works and how long it will last
5/5

Having jumper cables in the trunk of your vehicle is a necessity. It was a lesson from college that I had to learn the hard way. I bought jumper cables after learning that lesson, and I stowed them away The items came in a plastic bag and with a flimsy set of instructions. The first impression was that they were of decent quality. Purchasing these cost me money, and I had to use them within a month. This team performed admirably, and I am pleased to say so. I jumped my buddy's car easily with no problems and my spares are stored nicely so they can be reused. The purchase has been a good value, and hopefully I will not need to replace them abut years from now. Because it seems jumper cables do not spoil, so I'm guessing yeah. I am so glad I bought this!.

A FAILURE OF THE ELECTRICITY IS NOT TO BE CONDUCTED
4/5

It was less than a year ago that I purchased this product. In the event of an emergency, I have kept it in my car since then. I've had trouble using this cable twice when it failed to charge my dead battery. In fact, this cable was found to be defective following further investigation. While other cables have the ability to jump a vehicle, this cable cannot. When two live leads are touched together, they do not even spark. There is simply no way to conduct electricity through it. There were no signs of damage or improper use on this cable. An emergency kit was stored safely in case of a crisis. Despite research into the issue, the cable does not function properly. These cables have led to many hours of wasted time, so do not rely on them in an emergency! Please note *br/*br/*- A new update has been posted. It had been a long time since I'd used Iris' products. Customer service was very understanding and sent me two new cables. It was great to have them understand and accommodate me!.

The quality of the film is decent
5/5

The price was worth it. The 20 foot cables have 2 gauge, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a brush and gloves included in the package. There's nothing fancy here, but it's A 2 gauge wire with a nice diameter. The cables seem to be of good quality. There is a good sense of resistance and firmness with the clips and jaws. Out of the box, these seem to work very well. Though I prefer a better bag, the one provided with these isn't bad and is better than nothing at all. I am curious to see how they hold up, but for the price they seem to be a pretty good deal. I use a $350 set of jumper cables at work, and while these can't compare to them, they seem just as good for day-to-day work.
