A typical EGT probe also has a cooldown timer, but it does not matter if you make use of a cts or cts2 if you have an OBD2. In the event your car does not already have an obd2 boost gauge, you will also need to buy an edge aux boost gauge that will attach into this part and will read on the CTS

For this project, you will need to have a drill, tap, and a couple of In conjunction with my edge insight CTS, I found this to be the best combination. This kit comes with an EAS starter cable and a probe. This could be installed on the driver's side exhaust manifold, with a wire ran through the firewall right below the brake master cylinder (there is a rubber grommet plug that fits the preexisting hole you can use).
It is necessary to purchase this kit if you have an Edge CTS3 or other compatible model and wish to measure EGT on your Diesel engine. A great monitor, the best out there according to me - the CTS3. Because it includes readings from nonstock sensors it truly sets itself apart. Its sleek and attractive design also gives it an edge over other products. The fact that there is no EGT gauge in the factory of a diesel truck is astonishing, but there isn't and so this kit paired with the CTS3 is the only gauge you can use to read EGT. I installed the sensor with no issues, except that one needs a fairly large cable through the firewall since the sensor uses a 2 prong Weatherpack connector. There are two options (1- a big hole, or 2- a small hole does not require tools to do it this way, but having to depin it requires a special tool (I have to use it, but others who don't usually work with In addition, the wiring of this system is more complicated since the starter cable is needed. In the old style, there were only one type of plug this one has three. This might not seem like a big deal, but it adds to the amount of stuff to route and coil up out of the way of feet, pedals, etc. Now, an easy-to-replace sensor makes a lot of sense. As a result, I've had two sensors fail on me with my previous setup, so being able to replace them without having to re-run the wiring is great. I would recommend this kit to anyone looking for a reasonably priced, easy-to-install, input for the CTS3 that can be used.
It was very easy to install and I definitely recommend it for monitoring your EGT. What a great idea!.
It did exactly what it was advertised to do. A 2013 LML Duramax was installed with this cylinder head. Installation took no time at all. Keeping from tapping too deep into the manifold was the most demanding part of the work.
We often overlook the importance of knowing our EGT, but it's really crucial to do so. The probe is an essential part of a diesel health check. It is easy to install and can be used on many diesel engines.
In order to install the bit and tap, you will need to purchase them separately. I am pleased with the length of the cable. Except for that, installing it to an edge monitor is relatively straightforward. As expected, it tracks the EGT.
A 10 year old sensor in my duramax went bad, so it was replaced with this one. I use this with my CTs and it works great.
